Earthquake?

Felt it in Cardiff, only lasted a couple of seconds and caused the sofa I was sitting on to vibrate. Was wondering whether I had imagined it.

Weird I'm quite a bit further away than you and it was pretty distinct - lampshades were rattling like crazy, etc.

Felt it in Shropshire. Didn't realise what it was but the neighbour text me 10 seconds after it happened saying she felt the same!

Intriguingly (though I'm not sure what is the normal for UK seismic activity) the initial BGS plot looks closer to the signature of a nuclear test than an earthquake. (Would be pretty easy to tell once further data about the S waves, etc. came out).

Felt it in NW UK, felt like somebody moving all the heavy furniture in the house for a few seconds, strange as it was only last week I was looking at when the last UK quakes were

Thought it was an underground explosion at the beginning too.

Very strange feeling. Never experienced that before

My dad is in porthcawl he didn't feel a thing although he was out walking .

Yet I was on 3rd floor of house in Cardiff and the house felt like it had been grabbed and shaken from the foundation

Any Londoners living high above ground level? It must feel very different when it shakes on the 20th floor

My family living that way didn't notice anything at all - its mostly the South West and West that felt it.

When I've felt 3-4 magnitude quakes abroad they've gone on for a bit longer and the strange feeling goes on for longer of something very deep and can't be controlled :s
