I am surprised there is no thread on this already, but this looks really cool and could be the shot in the arm pcvr needs... if developers dont want to make actual VR games.......... if users can easily put a large chunk of their existing games into VR then that is good.... it also puts water on the argument that some devs make that it is really hard to add VR into their games (at least the ones using UE)

3 types of game shown

at the start a seated racing game.

in the middle, 1st / 3rd person shooters with 3DOF gun tracking

and finally finished off with full 6DOF gun tracking 1st/3rd person games

looks like they are aiming for an xmasish release.

Can't wait for this! I want to play Robocop in VR amongst others.

I'm also waiting for Praydog to release the RE4 remake first person VR mod. Apparently he delayed this to not cannibalise PSVR RE4 sales.
(Though Capcom could fix this by releasing official PC VR ports).

Big list of what works and how well.

Already started hovering up a good chunk of games on that list.
I don't play any flatscreen games (unless vr modded) and aren't familiar with those on that list (I only skimmed through it though), i'm sure they'll be many great games to choose from eventually. I'd like to see 1st person / open world (or atleast big maps) / high quality graphics games working, don't suppose anyone can say if there are any on that list which are that?

There's a few more arcade racers that are compatible. Hot Wheels 1-2, Pacer, Monster Truck

That google doc has been updated with a winter sale tab, showing the original and sale price. There's also a quick take on how much each game will pummel on you're system.

Alex has done a quick video as a bit of a guide of what to buy.

Hogwarts legacy is exciting. Especially as you can use voice attack with it. Run around casting spells by actually calling them out... The delay on voice attack would be the only issue I reckon, but you could probably still have important quick spells used as normal.

I'm intrigued as to how something like mordhau would work.

The problem with flat games modded to vr is that it is always just the visuals and you often still have to use keyboard and mouse or in some case it converts the controller mushroom sticks to work like a controller pad. What makes vr so immersive is the moving the hands around. Perfect example of that is elite in vr. Looks amazing and adds so much to the game...but just looses that emersion that makes vr so good

That's not actually true. There are many flat screen ports with full or partial hand presence. Some of these are source ports and some are reverse engineered.

In the case of this UE4 injector it can give partial hand presence, but you are right that it'll not be as good as a game properly converted for VR with full hand presence.

However there is a case to be made for conversions that don't have full hand presence where it is too difficult or impractical to implement, as being 'inside' the games and feeling present in the environments is incredibly immersive and allows you to see far more detail than on a flat screen.

Alien Isolation and Subnautica are great examples of this.

There are lots of flat screen to VR game mods with hand presence or limited hand presence worth playing.

On Quest you have HL1, the original doom games, Quake 1, 2 and 3, Jedi Knight Outcast and Jedi Academy, and even Doom 3.

On PC there are mods for HL2 plus episodes, Doom 3, various Resident Evil games, and loads more.

Modding is about the only thing keeping PCVR going with 'new' decent content.

is there a list somewhere, or a dedicated website or something. I stopped looking for flat screen to vr converstions after playing elite. (great game in vr but just felt it lacked that last little bit that broke the emersion for me)
I have star wars squadrens as well, but that seems to have stopped working cant get it to run at all anymore

Virtually non of the games the flat2vr group put out use m/k or a pad, discounting the Luke Ross mods that are a separate entity. There's an extensive list of the UEVR in this thread, i suggest joining the flat2vr discord for a full list of everything they do.

I suggest people watch the videos here: https://www.youtube.com/@waifu_enjoyer/videos

You'll see most of what's being shown features fully detachable hand movement for the games that benefit from it.
