iDrive pie dish?

Is there such thing as a single DIN flip out screen with toutch screen and a DVD drive? I can find DVD players which fit the bill, but nothing for a car PC.

Not quite, I think its a rotational device, no 8 way joystick like the idrive has.

On a positive note Im pretty sure you can get the same thing as the pie dish Idrive thingy :)

Here are some pics:

I wanted to be able to remove the screen at will for security reasons.I used a locking clip like you see in the pics

Nice installation :) Although hope the laptop is well secured as I don't think the wires will quite keep it in place :p Could you not hide it somewhere at the side of the boot?

I doubt the lappy will stay where it is.Although the velcro underneath stops it

from moving.:)

I may make a small box for it and cover it with grey felt so its hidden. But I

want easy access to the lappy to tweak the software etc.. in the house.

I was tempted to have the lappy underneath in the spare wheel bay but I

think air flow would be an issue.

Another idea is to have the lappy in a cradle on the back of the seat this

may be another option.

I will defintely route the Xmod usb cable better so its completely out of sight.

That looks absolutely horrible - you've blocked your aircon vents and it makes the interior look really nasty :(

You've also blocked the adjuster dial on the heater with your clip, how do you adjust the top vent temp now?

A tad dramatic tbh

There is more than enough airflow for the Air con.

I turn the dial with my hand.:)

Its a compromise between functionality and it being hot swappable.

This install does not alter functionality of the aircon at all.

I'm not asking people to fall in love with a car pc install. lol

Its designed for functionality.

My car can be OEM in 5 seconds

It really is no biggy. :p

Don't get so upset... Although your comments are welcome:)
