Easyrider's Cinema Room Number Two

only concern I would have is the venting for the amp. Is it an Onkyo?? If so they get very very warm and you need a good space around the amp otherwise it will overheat and shutdown.

Seriously need at least 10cm gap around the whole thing. I have that plus no back in the unit and it still gets damn hot!

There is more air circulation now than there was before...As the back and sides are open.I have left a gap on the top to allow for the vents. With a gap smaller than this in the other unit there was no issue.

So all is good :)

Just about to buy an Ikea besta 4 bay unit and this is what I am worried about with my Onkyo. It doesnt come with a back but I am going to make one for cables. I expect I will add a fan into the ply to suck air out.

I left the back off both my av cabinets (ikea units) - lots of air flow - no problems but they still get warm!

What Onkyo is it?

onkyo tx-nr626

Trouble is my cabling is very thick, and I have cut it longer because it is great quality and at the moment it is in a bedroom, in the future it will be in a lounge so I need to hide the cables somehow, a back with cable management/cablox would be fantastic

Been busy, Installed the centre speaker and made me a lack AV rack...Ran Audyssey on the Onkyo with the mic and I'm happy with the results. All I need to do is install the rear in wall speakers...using my Denons at the moment (pay day) and bury the woofer cable behind the skirting board. The one I have is a tad long so I'm buying a shorter one.

nice set-up, when are you going to breakdown the whole specs for us...what keyboard/amp/ you know what i mean what are you working with in that rack??

Easyrider - wat projector mount are you using?

I've been looking at a few on Amazon but comments would suggest that the Optoma's have slightly awkward mounting holes?

Also, is it an electric screen you have? Looks like a pulldown?

Just a cheap one from a competitor ...yeah it's a pull down I just pull it down in front of the TV when I wanna watch a movie and pull it up when I wanna watch TV ..takes all of 10 seconds to do.

I can highly recommend the Peerless PRGS-UNV-S projector mount. It has metal geared fine adjustment for pitch and roll which makes getting the geometry perfect really easy.
