eBay 20% off until 10pm with code

I thought it would be a good time to list an item BIN with mention fo the 20% off and I even put the code in.

Was £80 so would be £64 after the discount.

After 10 pm I got two offers of £60 :(

They both could have bought it for £64 pre 10pm and paid me £80 :(

I tried to buy a set of alloys with it.
but the selle refused and said if I want them then it's 20% more.... shame.. will just keep bidding.

So bought 250 worth of ipad screens, I would have bought them anyway in next month or so but this way I get a few free basically.

Yeah I tried to persuade a bloke who had an auction finishing today to list it as BIN for £450. I even sent him the link to the 20% off to explain why I was asking.

He told me to go buy somebody elses BIN instead as he wasnt interested.

Saw his item only sold for £400 this morning :)

His loss.

I would imagine all auctions will finish slightly below normal market value today as so many people bought stuff they wanted on BIN last night at 20% off.

Not sure I understand that, I didn't think sellers were worse off because of a code that paypal provide. Surely paypal pay the extra 20% to the seller?

Was the 20% off on BIN only?

Edit: Never mind, the post above now clarifies.

it was any item even auction stuff but you had to buy it and pay for it before 10pm last night.

Hell I couldn't even get a guy to change his listing to BIN even though his auction was finishing at 10.01pm last night. :(

And another guy who was up to changing his listing wanted more as a BIN than all the current items listed as BIN anyway. hmmmmph.

The code worked till 11pm anyway.

Anyway, I managed to avoid buying something amazingly. Normally I'm a sucker for this sort of thing but there was nothing I really needed right now and was at work so didn't have time to check that ebay was the cheapest after the code than elsewhere on anything I might possibly want.

Nevermind, these 20% vouchers come round every so often. Hopefully one will come round when I actually need something expensive!

I used it to knock £50 off a new motorbike jacket that I didn't exactly need right now but I would have bought it soonish anyway.

I checked my Paypal activity today and even though at payment checkout yesterday it showed the amount with 20% discount applied (also my Ebay invoice shows the 20% discount applied), my activity today shows I paid full price. Has anyone noticed the same?

Yeah that's how all the transactions went through. Caused meltdown on FB with people asking about it.

If you click into the PP transaction on the PC website, on the left in black text it'll say XXX amount payed by voucher, XXX amount paid by card/BT etc

Under "Paid with"
