Ebay Advice

As I understand it, paypal can dip into your bank account and take funds. So maybe you should check that out then transfer whatever is in your linked account to another one because it sounds like this buyer is going to spite you.

What the hell are you selling?

Besides, if you are selling outside of ebay, he has pretty much no recourse whatsoever, and Paypal won't care what he says as he basically isn't protected if he's just sending you money.

This is very true but also a method to scam people with, using stolen credit cards, if this is the case you lose your item and the cash as paypal will take it back.

Yeah, it cuts both ways.

You should never cancel an auction to sell, and certainly not a high value item like this.

Aaaaargh yet another problem with the bay.
I have had a couple of problems with delivery before and people have chased me around even when I sent them the parcel tracker!
I do feel for you Koolpc.

Ps. I'm still waiting for an i5 from the bay that should have been delivered two days ago now. Which means I have near-on a grands worth of stuff lying around. Fun fun fun.

Wait a min. He asked me to end the auction so he could buy the item. He knew i would wait for the money to go into my bank account. He then sent me a threat!! I have every right to be concerned etc.

Why do people have problems with buyers getting goods and then claiming not to have received them when it is obviouse they have and then paypal getting the seller to refund the person!!

Well you have opened yourself to even more likelihood of this going wrong by selling outside of ebay. You save a few quid on fees, fine. But if anything goes wrong you have no comeback whatsoever by using the dispute centre and I believe this affects the PayPal process as well.

Personally, I would refund his money and relist following the proper procedures. This is a disaster waiting to happen.

I would be really dubious with dealing with you as a seller

Why?

He wanted to end auction to pay straightaway.

He was told i would wait 3 days to clear funds to my bank account. He agreed.

He was threatening to me.

I am only trying to find a way to not get pooed on!!

Because you considered closing your bank account to keep the money.

Anyway ask yourself why someone would want you to end an auction and do a deal "outside" of ebay. Just forget about him, and sell it via another means.

As other people have said, refund him his money and relist the item.

Out of interest, whats his feedback on the bay like?

It's outside ebay now, as you ended the auction. Even if you don't send him the item and keep his money, ebay can't touch you as it is nothing to do with them.

Refund the guy his money and move on. Nothing can happen to you, short of him turning up at your door to kill you and take the item by force.

I have only considered closing the paypal account incase he does something stupid like complain to paypal that i hadn't sent him the goods!!

Remember, he stated that 'revenge is sweet'. Implying he would get me back!! For what? He knew i was going to wait 3 days for the money to clear as i told him 'before' he asked for the auction to end as he didn't want to wait 6 days.

Surely the point of paypal is to be quicker than a cheque or whatever, if i paid via paypal and it wasnt specifically in the T&Cs of the sale i'd want the item despatching ASAP, as far as i would be concerned i've paid and want my item, if someone said they were waiting for it tranferring to there bank, i'd immediatly ask for a refund and go elsewhere, 'cos i've known it take up to 2 week before to get from my Paypal into my bank.

I know but the guy was told this before he bought the item and agreed that i was going to put money into my bank before i despatched the goods. I probably would have sent the goods before the 3 days anyway until started to threaten me!!

Give him his money back.
Bail the **** out.

No need to. I will get the money and he will get the goods. He will have to wait until the money clears in my bank. If he doesn't like it then tough. The way he has threatened me he can wait! At least then i know he can't go and claim he hasn't had the goods as the money will be in my bank account and he did elect to do the deal 'outside' of ebay! He will get the goods via special delivery.

And when he cancels the payment or Paypal discover the card was stolen?

What was the item? I still don't think you've said.

You are asking for trouble selling to this buyer.
Send his money back and give him the bird.
Life is too short to worry about tossers on the internet
