Ebay advice

quite a kind well written response. I don't see why he wouldn't accept that unless he's had difficulty shifting said item and wants you to stick with it.

Thanks i didn't want to seem like a idiot about it hence why i wrote it like that.

He will have no problem selling it again maybe even for a higher price next time to be honest.

Just to be Devil's advocate - once you bid you made an agreement to buy and pay, and using the delivery options which were clearly laid out. This guy may have been away at work for the weekend - he'll now come home to a message questioning his integrity.

I don't mind were talking less than £1 and i think it shows politeness. the main reason i cancelled is because i need it before xmas really so i sourced another locally

fees are actually more than that, i sold £170 worth of computer gear and my listing fees and final value fees were £19. Pretty big percentage.

I never knew ebay to be this expensive, I used to run an ebay business, and had to quit ebay and create a website and monetise it with adwords, that was cheaper than being on ebay.

Anyway, you dont need to pay any fees, you just have to complete the cancellation request and they will get their fees refunded by ebay

He's still got 5 days to ship before xmas yet, did he say ship or delivered before?

Delivered mate, And i still have heard nothing from him so he's not just away for the weekend. Also why post an item on ebay for sale if you know you will be away for four days after the sale ends and unable to commit to post it like he said.

Under Paypal rules sellers are supposed to send all items tracked/signed for. If they don't its their risk and if it doesn't turn up they won't have a leg to stand on when you claim.

Lol, didn't see last post.

are you sure you weren't just kicking up a fuss over nothing? People are busy at this time of the year, lots of things to buy, lots of shopping to do, lots of work to finish off before the holidays.. everyone is busy.

just out of curiosity how much is this item worth? Can't be much if the seller sold it regular 1st class.

You missed the point entirely.

The guy clearly promised to post it before the weekend, the fact he neither logged in to see my message also meant that he could not have got it sent out like promised. I don't see it has kicking up a fuss i see it as a seller not being able to commit to the terms of sale he agreed to.

On another note another item i purchased last night the seller is on the ball with messages nearly 7k feedback 100% positive he messaged me first thing this morning and said due to an error his end and the christmas rush he forgot to send mine signed for he has offered a partial refund for the hassle.

Some ebay sellers think it's ok just just plonk something on then forget about it until they feel it's convenient. Or the other type of person that thinks i'll sell a load of stuff promised before xmas then just post it in the new year instead.

worth £18 but the item should have really sold for more considering it was mint condition in a seal it should have been going for at least £50

One of the reasons i don't think he's got in touch also
