Ebay charges

I've recently sold an item on the bay and am being charged a bit more than i thought. I know about insertion fee's and extra pics etc etc but they are charging me £40 for a sale i sold on a pick up only basis.

Any ideas why i'm being charged so much??

fees have gone up

its become a bit of a rip off now, but unfortunately there arent many altetnatives which is why they get away with it

£40? Ouch.

Maybe consult them first see if they've made a mistake, what did the item sell for?

Maybe this 10% tax taking sales fee rip off scam stealing piece of money will be valid from say a £400 sale or something,

eBay is a complete and utter rip off. Sold something the other month and they wanted about £30 in charges!!

I just closed my eBay account, removed all details from my eBay account and ditched it. Made a completely new account and no issues thus far.

i used to buy loads of things on ebay

but now, i dont even bother buying on there any more

Final value fee ranges from 5-30% depending on the sale price and the item type.

I'll buy on ebay but I won't sell anymore, dad was ripped off by paypal/ebay charges and had a big battle with them. They **** off in the end though

I'm not selling on eBay anymore due to the ridiculous final value fees and paypal lottery. Shame really as I have always been a massive fan of eBay.

i know lots of people that stopped using ebay, it must hit their bottom line to put their charges up so high

I wont sell on there anymore. paypal is dodgy and 10% is just stupid.

£72 my fee's this month which hit my profit on the stuff I sold. Will only be using this business seller orientated auction site for purchasing in future.

Indeed, days of eBay selling are pretty much over now. The charges are ridiculous, and every buyer seems to be out to scam you for their money back these days.

I don't bother selling on there anymore, i used to sell a fair bit but the fees now are ridiculous what with increased selling fees and paypal's fees.

Given the increase in competition from Amazon Market Places, Gumtree, Craigs List etc and applying the basic principals of capitalism you would think Ebay would get more competitive with their fees.

i wonder how long it will be for them to realise (if at all) that their fees have effected their sales and drop them back down again

what with ebay fees, paypal fees and the risk because paypal always fall on the side of the buyer. its just not worth it anymore

it not just 10%, its nearly 15% when consider PayPal and listing fees
