Sold something on ebay 4 days ago, the buyer only just paid for the item despite requesting payment within 24 hours.

I requested for the transaction to be cancelled. I refunded him straight away but he has now declined the cancellation. Anything I should I do now or just ride it out as he ain't getting squat from me.

Phone up eBay, they can cancel it from their end. What did the buyer say when you explained about the 24 hours for payment?

Anyway, a bit harsh surely!

Sent him a message, guy was a low feedback buyer (4) and his last transaction was back in January. May well have been a genuine reason but he bid on the item minutes before it ran out so could have easily just paid right away but didn't, left it till today, 20 minutes ago to be exact.

Spoken to ebay who are going to cancel the transaction for me, they guy is still demanding the goods though despite the fact he's been refunded in full already.

He can do one for all I care! Can't give what I don't have.

So you got money for selling something and now you want the money back so you can sell it again (potentially at a lower price)

Umm no,

He paid for the item 4 days after it had been "sold" and after I had requested to cancel the transaction. I refunded his money instantly and told him the item had already been relisted because he took too long to pay (listing said payment within 24 hours)

He then declined the cancellation and is now demanding the goods, which he has not paid for because he has already been refunded in full.

Ever considered he bid knowing he had a few days to pay (as per ebays rules) and wouldn't have the money to pay until his payday today?

Your terms mean nothing. Ebay policy says that buyers have 4 days to pay.

Just putting "payment required within 24 hours" on your listing carries no weight whatsoever.

This, and relisting?, meaning what you'll be waiting another 5 days to re-sell and receive payment, at a minimum?. You sound like a tool OP.

Listing has 12 hours to go, and its going for more than before so wise decision...

If the policy of ebay is 4 days then doesnt matter anyway, item sold 22/8 its now 26/8... 4 days... I think that makes you the tool for not reading!

Sounds like you're being a bit of a birk about it.

Why not just send the item when he paid for it instead of being a wang and relisting it?

Therefore he has done nothing wrong as far as ebay rules are concerned?

Sorry dude, but you are coming across as a bit of a goober. He has 4 days to pay. He pays on day 4 or 5, what's the issue?.

The issue is he took too long, if i buy something on ebay i pay immediately, if he didn't have the money at the time of winning he shouldn't of bid on it. The auction start/end time was over 4 days when I paid so I pulled the plug.

As much as i would like to offer a buy now pay later scheme.... that's not how I roll!

and wtf is a goober..
