Ebay rant

Its a 50 quid old smelly sofa, get over it?

The other guy probably emailed her saying he could collect today/at a convenient time with a phone number etc. So she sold it to them, she probably just wants rid of her ratty old sofa as quickly as possible and didnt really care who it went to or about the FVF.

Exactly

Plus if it was the other way round and you were selling a sofa, I'm sure you'd take the better offer as well.

If she pulled the auction early then id agree but she let it run and then backed out which imo is wrong

Just to add, i'm never selling anything of any value on ebay again. Sold something for £330, stung with £33 fee's off ebay, £5 listing fees, then another £10 off paypal! Id rather sell for less and give someone a bargain than let ebay take all that money for doing next to naff all

Oh do get over it there's a good chap. Its an old sofa for fifty quid off ebay, go and bid on another one.

It looked soo comfy though and was a bargain for a 2 year old sofa. She sold it for £80 in the end to the underbidder.

I've replied with this....

I have missed out on other sofa's because of you messing me about. I wish you would make up your mind. First you said...

"Another buyer has made an offer that I have accepted, after your initial offer"

First and foremost, I agreed to the £80 you wanted, but because i didn't have time to drive up there and collect it before the auction ended, i secured the item and made sure i was the highest bidder. This somewhat disappointed you because you was going to get £80 and now you're only getting £51, so you make up some lie saying someone has offered you more than my initial price. Whats that then? £90? £100
Someone offered you more than £80 even though you only wanted £80?? I doubt that!
You just expected more and you got less plain and simple.

Then you said...
"We decided to keep the item"

Of course we both know it's all just a lie and you even want me to revise my feedback because you don't think it's fair. No chance!
Just one big massive disappointment this has been!

So i'm going to leave it there and try to find another. Hopefully that message has ****** her off a little, just like she ****** me off.

Fight the good fight man, it is only a sofa and you shouldn't get wound up about it, but follow your sense of justice... I got stung once on ebay, bought a laptop and won then he said the item was no longer for sale and refunded me my money minus £30, the guy was a tool, either way I let it go in the end but I shouldn't have...

Power to the people.

report to ebay, - always used ebay message system to contact etc, but dont get nasty.

ebay dont like people who, list then go outside of the ebay system.

eBay will when the look into it be able to see the messages sent, etc, via ebay.

If she has sold outside of ebay - after the item has sold on ebay, she has broken ebays rules and the terms of her account.

Poss she will end up with a suspension, or ban on the account for seeling for a while.

Simply fact is - you sell on ebay, you sell for what the listing ends for, that the rules people sign up for.

If they report you, they are prob doing so to get the fees back, that is against the rules, if so, send ebay every message you get (if outside of ebay inc the headers) if via ebays message section, they will prob see it).

You have nothing to lose, so be akward, she broke the rules, make her pay.

You can even report her aswell - for selling outisde of ebay, and there is a report (similar to NPB but for sellers), be she tries to avoid fees soon by reporting you via ebay. as a non payer.

Would be nice if ebay did something about this kind of thing, but sadly we all know they wont.

It's not exactly in their interest to crack down hard on their members... well done on refusing to cancel the transaction though, hope the -ve feedback was subtly worded.

Post here? :D

I'm fuming right now. I saw a cream 3 seater sofa bragging about NO RESERVE - NO RESERVE on ebay that i wanted for the spare room. . I asked how much she wanted and she said £80. Let her know and she will end it today, but she is quite happy to let the listing run it's course if i don't offer the £80. I let it run it's course and won the auction last night at just £51. This morning i get a request to cancel the transaction as she as sold it to the person i outbid. They have obviously offered her more and she has accepted. I'm soo ****** off right now.

its anoying and I would not do it to someone but its her sofa she can sell it to who she wants... maybe she jsut did not like you, maybe her mate wanted it.. maybe the other person begged her and she did not know how to say no...

I think for every person who would take the lower offer another would take a higher offer no matter who won the auction...

jsut get over it and bid on another auction,

if it was a verbal or forum sale then yeh but ebay has rules that people sign up to when they make an account, they should stick to them or be punished if they don't, simple

I have just been reading this on paypal... (its obvious ebay and paypal are linked with crap like this)

Please post the item right away. We'll release the funds when one of the following occurs:

• you receive positive feedback from the buyer
• it's been 21 days since the payment date and you haven't received a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal on the transaction being held

Learn more about the PayPal Policy for payment holds for eBay items.

What kind of **** is that??! If the buyer is too lazy to post feedback then I have to wait 21 days for the payment?!
