Ebay returns problem

Problem is - seems to be a bug with their system. I tried a different web browser as well just in case it was that. There is NO option to escalate. Just none. I have never had to return anything on ebay so i guess i took longer than i should have. I guess i just assumed it would be automatic.

But just in case its not clear....

there is NO option to escalate

Just read the whole thread.

You should have put in dispute directly in PayPal in the first instance NOT eBay.

I would contact eBay ASAP otherwise you could end up with no money, no card or any means to get your money back.

Even if he issues you money back through PayPal he may well dispute this transaction and charge back later on (when its too late for eBay to help also).

Good grief!

1) If its not fit for purpose then open a PayPal dispute (NOT a eBay dispute) and escalate withing 45 days of purchase.

2) Go through the procedure they state.

3) Return it tracked.

4) Get your money back. No kind of technical report is required at ANY time. It is NOT a court case.

Do NOT communicate with the seller other than via the official dispute console.
Do NOT pay attention to any spiel he spins you.
DO report any abusive messages he sends you, he WILL get penalised for it.
DO leave negative feedback if he's giving you grief but more importantly leave him zero stars, if he gets less than 4.7 stars across the board over a given period of time he will almost certainly be banned from selling, and it's permanent.
DO stop worrying and being such a drama queen.

A PayPal dispute and eBay dispute are the same thing, you can't open one then try to open the other, as it will tell you this. They are part of the same company.

Don't accept his offer, ring eBay and get through to customer services to sort it out, if there's a bug stopping you from escalating, they will be able to do it manually for you.

Just write it off, its taken you over 45 days to get a refund of £41. It's less than £1 a day, surely its not worth dragging it out any longer. Just forget it and get on with your life.

ok

According to Ebay rep you cannot escalate return cases. (speaking on phone to them now)

I opened the wrong case type. I chose "return and get a refund" and then chose "item is damaged" for subject.

I should have chosen "item is not as described".

So fair enough noob return mistake...but its not clear at all that this was the wrong type of case to choose.

She is opening the right case type now and escalating it for me. (should get the refund between 3 - 7 days)

for the love of God i would really appreciate help.....

I have phoned Ebay numerous times to get them to escalate my case each time they said they would do it. However they do nothing.

Now when i phone them i just get cut off.

tried paypal as well they wouldnt get involved because the case has already been opened on ebay.

If anyone can help i would appreciate it. Please no troll posts (mods i am having quite a tough time at the moment)

My next step is taking the seller or ebay to court using moneyclaim online(i know ebay are merely the agents but in my opinion this whole dispute process has been mismanaged by their incompetence)

Will send a LBA to their head office detailing the case and the numerous attempts by me to resolve it

Just wondering if anyone else has successfully managed this?

OR should i make the action against the seller directly? And involve the police? (get a CRF number)

An answer of "you've lost ur money just move on " tbh i wont accept and i'm prepared to go to any legal lengths to get this money back.

I've found out that you can do a chargeback on debit cards within 120 days (which the paypal transaction is) so might head down to my bank and see what they say.

Unfortunately even if bank does it - it will wreck my paypal account probably ban it or whatever.
