We are actually not that much better off as Ebay has increased their take to 12.5% plus most options when listing are now chargeable, 50p for adding buy it now for example. I also heard a rumour on Saturday that if you list something and the buyer pays for it outside Ebay (such as Paypal) then Ebay takes their cut out of the next item you sell that uses the Ebay payments system. If there are none then you get billed at the end of the month. I also heard that despite Ebay taking their cut from peoples sales they are being charged again at the end of the month and getting the money back can be a nightmare. Things like this really put me off selling on Ebay again.

I don't understand what is meant by 'outside'. Is it when a buyer ends their listing and sells to someone they came into contact with on eBay?

Perhaps I should have said "outside Ebay's payment system" but I did say "such as Paypal" so it shouldn't be that hard to work out. Outside Ebays payment system would be any method that doesn't use Ebay's crap new payment system, so Paypal, credit/debit card, cash on collection etc.

The payment method for buyers hasn't changed only how you receive money has.

Hmmm this is annoying as I dont sell much on the bay but I have paypal.

Now it seems I have to look into getting a new/spare account to recieve funds into from ebay as theres no way I'm attaching an account with any large amount of money in it.

I guess these changes are to stop the scamming and the just empty the funds from your account and ebay cant do anything people.

Where did you read all this?

All eBay payment does it allow the buyer to pay by card or by PayPal through the eBay payment system.... you can’t pay by card outside of that system.

That's nothing new. If you sell something on ebay then you need to pay the final value fees even if the buyer pays cash on collection (or some other way that they manage to avoid ebay's payment system).

In a newsletter from a author I follow and he's having problems getting his money back from his double charged monthly fees.

I changed mine quite a while ago, have payouts set to daily and they come through quite quickly, saves me from having to withdraw funds from Paypal.

Monthly fees for a store?

Under the new system there is just one payment processor and that’s eBay. There’s no difference if the buyer pays card, credit card or PayPal, so not sure what he is on about.

That's the old eBay payment method when you get a monthly invoice of your eBay charges. With this new payment system, all charges are taken when you get your payout.
