Ecclestone "Europe is a thing of the past"!

He clearly doesnt care about the sport and only cares about money. Why else would he make F1 no longer free to air in the UK? There is no way that move is going to increase its audience or interest in the sport.

i cant remember now but you posted the same comment to 3 of my replies in 3 different threads so i reported you for trolling and thats what happened

You posted yet another stupid rant, including wishing that Bernie would die.

I said "lol, arknor"

I got a 2 day suspension.

I will let people form their own opinion on that one...

Nice to know that you went crying to the mods about it though. And it was only 2 stupid rants in 2 thread, just so you know.

First the BBC->Sky thing now this! Is Bernie trying to alienate perhaps the most traditionally loyal F1 fanbase in the chase for new money?

If Europe is a thing of the past, then F1 will be a thing of the past for me. Surely the fact that almost all of the F1 teams are Europe (UK) based is a influencing factor? Especially in these 'eco-friendly' times where cars and equipment can be trucked between races by road rather than dumped on fleets of 747 Cargo-Conversion aircraft for each flyaway race?

Formula 1 has been carbon neutral since the late 90's, including all transportation emissions for teams and equipment, and all travel emissions for all fans going to the track.

Most of the stuff he says is BS so I'll see it when I believe it.

As soon as people realise that what Bernie says is just a method to get discussions going in a certain direction, and not actually what he wants or thinks, they soon see why he says what he says.

Bernies aim: To get teams to reduce costs.
Bernie says: "40m budget cap"
End result: Teams agree to reduce costs.

Bernies aim: More interesting racing.
Bernie says: "we need sprinklers"
End result: DRS

Bernies aim: To get drivers to race for wins and not settle for second.
Bernie says: "Medals for winning, most golds win"
End result: larger points gap between 1st and 2nd

Its the age old politicians tactic. If you aim far to high, people are far more likely to accept a compromised middle ground than they would if you suggested the compromise in the first place.

This will be a tactic to get European races to get their tracks up to the same standard as the new circuits, and also make them more likely to accept increasing costs.

Isnt there some "small print" to that , or get out clause, that means F1 really isnt carbon neutral (ie it was just EU races or something)

Cant remember at all what it was for the life of me though

Still doubt Jerez would be up to f1 racing standards though, although as stated it could be bought upto standard if required

and how gorgeous the mid 90s Williams Renault cars were.

i wish they would let the cars be wider again as itas more mechanical grip and the cars dont look right anymore imo.

i know it was only a small difference but it stands out like a sore thumb to me

Its only 20cm.

I think the increased height of modern cars, especially with the high rear wings, make it stand out more. Some of the 80s and 90s cars look impossibly low.

I think the wider front wings also help to make the cars appear narrower. But each F1 fan will have a particular era/generation of cars that they absolutely adore, either for the liveries/logos or the general shape and design of the cars. The 1995/96/97 Williams are beautiful in my opinion. It wasn't long before we started getting over the top on winglets and so on in F1.
