So it was you who did my front brakes last! Sticky greasy copaslip everywhere :(

a tube of copper slip isn't just for xmas , it's for life .... but are the contact points on the hub right across the surface (like the pad ones aren't either)

but - have had to set up some fairly elaborate recipes to remove wheels in the past when rolling car with loosened nuts didn't free it,
heat , and old wood fence post whacking wheel from the other side

Autodoc can be dodgy as

Dodgy delivery times, difficult to do returns, parts not as expected, saying they have stock when they don't

Sadly as I'm finding out - they (and/or the same company under different names) were the only one to have a part I needed so ordered with misgivings but turned up as an alternative part not with the configuration as described, they are refusing to assist customs on returning it making it impossible to return the part to them so guess I'm going to have to go the legal route of claiming back through the payment provider.

Did you buy the easy returns thing?

When I ordered all the bits, they charging something like £3 extra for some return guarantee or something like that.

No, relatively inexpensive item or I wouldn't have chanced it given the reviews.

Seems to be a total shower of fail by Royal Mail, German customs, the German courier (I think DHL) and Autodoc which is completely out of my hands to do anything about and none have bothered to try and work with any of the others or me. It is incredible how incompetent and utterly useless companies and people are.

You're not kidding. I ordered a rear parking sensor and a front parking sensor. When they were delivered, the 'front' sensor was actually a rear sensor. The item picture shows a rear sensor but I assumed it was a generic picture as the full description says front multiple times. It lists the compatible cars, I'd got everything right.

It's taken nearly an hour on the phone to get them to accept that it's their mistake. If I'd bought something which says 'rear' then I'd understand it but I spent so much time checking and re-checking everything before I ordered. They kept saying things like "As per check the item was ordered wrongly from your side and the item was received correctly and is for the front side , the item is not compatible to your car and the correct one is..."

It took multiple screenshots and arguing with them for them to finally accept it and suddenly offer me a refund. Hopefully it'll actually turn up.

Turning into a giant mess with this one - Royal Mail incorrectly claimed the item was unavailable to collect on my end, but then provided tracking details as it moved through the system, German customs just saying "neín" despite all the relevant documentation being provided, Royal Mail then claiming it had been returned to sender (me) but it never arrived, now it is showing as having entered Germany despite the German courier not having received it and apparently German customs are insisting it can't be returned to me but needs to go to the recipient!?! despite denying it entry... meanwhile return window technically has rolled over and autodoc aren't being very helpful, but they haven't closed the return so I don't know what happens.

Didn't autodoc provide the return postage labelling , so that it might be categorised correctly for any refund on duty/vat,
I had some hertz car speakers from germany returned due to wrong model and I think that used DHL pathway.

Ozcaro is a firm I have used for eu sourced parts.

Nope, certain items aside even when they screw up you have to return it to them at your expense initially... wouldn't have used them but the part availability is problematic.

Despite the tracking now showing it out for delivery in Berlin Germany, the post man dropped the package back at my door just now... what a shambles.

Definitely won't be using autodoc again.

I’ve certainly learned from my experience. I did get my refund and I bought four parking sensors from eBay for £16, compared to one from autodoc for £15 (which was the wrong part).

They arrived quicker than from autodoc and I fitted them today, all working.

See I need to change the lower control arm on teh Mrs Fiesta and the bush has gone. Price of the part:

Ebay £25

Autodoc £34

GSF £55

ECP £82

Just trying to work out if you are basically getting ripped off and the more "well known" car part sites vs the ebay on, or if the ebay one is indeed ****.

Are they all credible OEM products - I've bought from oscaro who show parts of all qualities,
like in skoda vs audi thread you can get the oem suspension parts in alu or cheaper version in pressed steel.

They are all pressed steel, or at least advertised as such.

Other than that no idea, the brand isn't specified on eBay, the auto doc website lists literally about 40 different branded ones, price which vary from £34 up to £90 or so.

I guess it's a common car, common part.

These have already been done at least once on this car, although not by myself, I suspect twice.

In may be that is a weak point/bad design but the roads around here are awful.
