I quite like Ed Milliband, and hate Mrs Thatcher's policies of the 1980s that did so much damage to Britain's society and reputation. However I don't agree with these T-shirts, whatever else she is a person, a mother, a friend to some. Celebrating when anyone dies is pretty sick so I think Ed has shown very poor judgement posing for that picture.

Ed will never be PM anyway.

His brother David on the other hand had more stature and standing which I think would have allowed him to be PM.

Milliband is just another tory pretending to be labour, it doesnt matter who you vote for they are all controlled by big business in the end

You could say the same about murderers, rapists and even Hitler, they're all family of someone. People are allowed an opinion although as someone who grew up during the 80s I don't see why people have to take it to such an extreme and why on earth display things like that on a t-shirt? Seems slightly mad to be honest! :p

I do same the same about murderers*, rapists* and even Hitler. However awful their crime I do find it distasteful to see people celebrating the death.

*most.

T-shirt worn by someone not even alive during Thatcher's years. Says it all really.

Who, Ed?

I'm pretty sure he was. Edit: Sorry, the guy next to him? Who knows what age he is... but if you were born in the 80's... I've got love for you?

Can't say it is very tasteful to be honest.

without knowing what effect she had on his life is that really a fair comment ?

You make your own way in this world, if he was born during her final years the blame is not with a woman who left office over 22 years ago, and it certainly doesn't excuse you from such actions.

What if you were born in her early years? Or in an area percieved to be impacted harder than others?

It is true you make your own way in the world, but others can and do make it harder for you.

If you were born in her early years, you could argue the point of her having an impact on your employer and you having to get a new job, retrain or move. Fair point, it's not easy or pleasant. If you were in an area (as a baby) hit by depravity then you'd still have the same opportunities as one not-hit in regards to education and healthcare. I'm not going to argue that some places were awash with opportunity or are, but you can always move to one that does.

It depends how you define makes it harder, it's not nice to lose your job, but it's not also nice to live in a country that defaults. Greater good and all that.

In this thread: Maggie Thatcher is compared to murderers, rapists and Hitler.

I could not care less, people will be thinking the same for Tony Blair & plenty of other politicians.

Just because she is now old & fragile it doesn't suddenly make the things she did all well & peachy.

No, the fact that she did mostly the right thing makes it all well and peachy. It has been spelled out a number of times, but apparently it needs spelling out again. Thatcher did not kill the unions, the mines, and the industry. They had already killed themselves long before she came along. She just took them off life support.
