Eddie Stobart Oops!

Driving an HGV only pays £8 p/h ? i was under the impression this was a "highish" paid job ?

only because they do 40-50hour weeks.

was something in a Newspaper about Tesco yesterday, apparently the checkout staff get paid 15k... which is rubbish (i dont get paid that as a manger!), they get paid less than 9k. Reason why? The figures was worked out on a 40hour week, yet Tesco staff only get 8-16hours a week, 16hours if they are lucky...

That Fiona from episode 2 is pretty damn tastey. Nom nom

R420LA6X2/4MNA do you know her? Can you get me her number? ;)

Daft isn't it? Even a full time job is only 36.5 hours a week. Work as a full time driver for .Com (35hrs) and we get paid a decent amount more than General Assistants and before the tax man takes any of my hard earn't readies my basic is just shy of £13.5k I know certain locations get a higher basic wage but £15k for a checkout worker is lol worthy. A colleague went for a job with Business Post because the money was "better" and he is still with us now because although the money was better it was not the 20hrs a week better he would have to work to get it.

72 last week! - the only time I get a flat 50hour week is when I get paid a weeks holiday pay!

She's alright, I see her out & about. :)

As for the number, AFAIK, she's spoken for.

What does an HGV driver make then? If I were to guess I would have said £15?

;)

I work at a different depot and am on a slightly different rate, its in the same ballpark though.

It seems to be trying to mimick ice road truckers without realising that the M1 is boring and rubbish compared to a frozen Canadian lake.

I quite agree, that said, Ice Road Truckers is hardly a fly on the wall of UK transport which the Stobart program is - well, thats what its supposed to be.....

Stobart spotters are strange people. Im a forklift truck driver and id just pulled out into the yard to unload a stobart wagon and these people appeared from nowhere taking pictures of the truck and speaking to the driver. Had to wait for some time while they interrogated him :D
