Edinburgh Meet March 2006

My flight gets in sometime after 5 on Friday, so I'll pass on the afternoon's activities (done the touristy thing before) and join you a bit later, wherever we're eating maybe?

In all the times I've been to Edinburgh, I've never been to the castle, I'd really like to do that if it's practicable or possible. Isn't that where Mons Meg is?

Don't worry Feek! I've lived in Edinburgh all my life and still never been up to see the castle :p

OMG YOU TRAITOR!! How dare you call yourself a SCOTSMAN!!!

I've lived here my whole life (21 yrs) and I've been the castle more times than I can count. And a lot of those times not even by choice. Relatives show up from different countries and whats the first thing we show them... our beloved castle.

You know what I'm glad we have a castle. Dont see the bloody americans with their castles. We have a castle. How cool is that.

Also just down from the castle is a fudge shop for those with a sweet tooth ;)

Have a good time everybody that is going :)

Well I have booked a place to stay so you had better mark me down as a definite :) Can someone update the attendees in the first post please and thank you :D

Yay!

I'm hoping to get an itinery put together for this in the very near future.. Or at least a plin of a plon of a plan.

Feek Saturday is easy enough to plan, bowling then a short walk in the same building to Old Orleans for food. After that hit the town and have fun. Only thing to decide is times.

Friday I am more than happy to meet early arrivals and hit the toursity bits around the centre of Edinburgh and of course take in the Castle, which is £10.50 per head for entry now.

Just down from the Castle is the usual touristy shops and also a camera obscura for a unique view of the city.

Friday i won't be available till evening so i'll be meeting you guys in a pub somewhere, depending upon my lift not sure about saturday.

Sign me up for a maybe, not sure if Scotland is a bit too far since only been active on the forums for 2 days. :p

I'll be travelling from South Yorkshire buddy. So I'll be taking plenty of DEE DAR and WATTA with me ;)
Getting a GNER train from Doncaster. Two single tickets are a lot cheaper than a return. I saved £60, since I'm a Yorkshireman myself - that's £60 pounds worth of beer tokens.

I've never been to a meet before and I'm really looking forward to it.

Well it's a big maybe at the moment but definatly considering it, just need to break it to the Mrs that i'm meeting a bunch of people off the internet that i met a month ago for a long weekend in Scotland..lol

Any ideas that would make that sound any less strange than it already does..lol
