Eek....Help!

Try plugging a case fan into the cpu fan header as that may let you connect the cpu fan to the fan controller and boot normally

But the CPU Fan is plugged in there for the time being. It works when it's set up on the cardboard but not when it's attached to the tray outside of the case, any ideas?

Yep. Should i using washers anywhere? Never had to use them before but noticed there's quite a few that come with the case.

You could always try them, although ive never used them

This is very strange... It definitely works outside of the motherboard tray, all standoffs are correctly scewed into place and i've tried a variety of different screws with and without washers. It's doing my head in, what on earth is going on?

I don't believe it....turns out the screws attaching my Tuniq Tower to the backplate were touching the motherboard tray (i think) and causing it to short. This was caused by using the standoffs provided with the case which are ever so slightly shorter than the ones i was previously using.

I feel so frustrated at spending a whole day tearing my hair out over what turns out to be less than a mm in height.

But it's fixed nonetheless, thanks for all the advice guys, very much appreciated! :)
