Eggs: Refrigerate or room temp

I have an egg barn on the work counter, I don't see a problem with keeping them at room temperature as they don't last long enough to go bad!

Where I'm living atm has a small kitchen, so temperature fluxuates too much, especially with 6 people cooking different times throughout the day. So I keep them in the fridge.
If I had a big cool cupboard, I would put it in that, if I knew I could use them up before use-by date.

I just whack them in the cupboard and they usually last about a week or so past the best before date (I use the old water trick to test them).
