EGX 24th - 27th September

After not managing to get an appointment by email for the HTC Vive booth, I managed get myself an appointment despite it being fully booked. :D

I couldn't get over how crap the nvidia booth was. Just the VR thing there which their PR person confused with morpheus which made us all laugh. Also had booth babes....

I was going to go and have a look, then I saw they had booth babes and I thought I'd skip it.

It sounds like I made the right decision.

I went on Friday. Took a leisurely stroll round first (:p), mostly hanging around indie areas/games with no queues, just sit down and play. Surprised by the latest batch of Warhammer titles, both Vermintide and Total War were both solid entries (didn't spend too long on them 'cause I was pretty crap :D)

Loads of indies and great to have lil' chat with some actual developers, although a bit cramped considering the amount of games! Cuphead was awesome especially, but the actual demo not so much (just threw you into some challenging boss fights with little practice.)

Rezzed/Game Industry bits also fairly interesting to listen to, ...and sit down for a bit :p

...and AAA queues. I really don't understand. I swear Battlefront has a completely open beta next week (which is what I assume people were playing), yet the queues for it were still huge  Guess some people really just wanted to play it.

The one "big" game I actually played was Just Cause 3. Awesome. Exactly what I was expecting coming from JC2, so obviously looking forward to it!

Also went to those Deus Ex/Hitman closed presentations. Actually learnt stuff about both games which I didn't know, so I guess it was worth while! (they showed some of Italy from Hitman and kept talking about "explosive golf balls" :D) Talked to some dev/rep about the game too, actually stumped him on some questions and he seemed impressed :p Got dem signed posters too.

Oh, and also got one of 'em Vault Boy masks! Was informed they sold for a lot - http://ebay.eu/1WriNR8. Would feel a bit scummy selling a free item, but it could fund the purchase of the game itself!

I went on thursday and can't believe how much this event has grown since I first went it in Brighton a few years ago. Loved the Hitman/Deux ex presentation and I'm now really looking forward to those games coming out, I want those little figurines haha!

All the AAA FPS titles had console controls instead of a KB/M so I struggled with that lol
