There's a reason it isn't the normal practice; but given what's happening this year I can't say I blame them for trying it.

Let's hope there's running later this weekend.

To be fair in the location it's in this sort of weather could happen at any time of the year.

It's not the rain that's stopping them (although it probably would have done if this is forecast to continue, as they'd want to keep the wet tyres in good shape for the sessions where it matters) but the fog stopping the medical helicopter from landing at the nearest hospital.

2007 European GP, it rained just at the start I think but everyone was on dry's except Marcus Winkelhock who pitted for wets at the end of the formation lap

Ah, my memoy hasn't completely gone then this year!

FP1 start delayed due to bad weather. Medical helicopter can't fly.

These medical helicopters seem a bit pathetic. There's a hospital just 14mins away by normal driving.

I bet if I go around the nordschleife I don't have a medical helicopter.

And bumped on to 16:00 (15:00 UK). Looks like FP2 is not going to happen either.
