Elbow Patches for Shirts

Yeah i get that. I am trying to consciously improve my posture and slouch a lot less.

I also need to start using my desk in the standing position a lot more!

Not sure how i do it. But at work i've found that i lean on my left elbow (pointy elbows?) and rip my shirts.

This is getting real annoying as you can imagine. I tried buying cheap shirts from Asda but they fit so badly that it's not worth it.

I've tried them from TM Lewin/Charles Thywitt/M&S/H&M and all do the same suggesting it's how i lean on the corner (chavvy) desk

What's the ettiquette of putting patches on my work shirts. Something to be avoided like the plague and just suck it up and buy new shirts every now and then or be heroic and start a trend!

No. Just no.

You’ll look like a nonce/geography teacher.

Sit like a normal human or roll your sleeves up.

Higher grade fabric.

Really the only answer, I suffered the same. But then my career got going and started to buy some Hugo boss shirts. They seem to last forever.

Had the same issue, thankfully we now have a "dress for your day" policy, and every day is Jeans and T shirt day for me.

I spotted a colleague at work wearing this shirt during the week..

I asked him where he got it and he said it was from Zara.

I hope this helps you @Marvt74

go to the local sports shop and buy elbow pads, then when someone asks, just say" ohh these? i came to work on my skateboard and forgot to take them off."
Your boss will think your a Google hipster type and promote you, and give you a company Tesla.

The length of your sleeves is probably too short for your arms. The fabric is getting put under tension when you bend your arms at the same time as your elbow mashing the fabric against the desk. Unbuttoning your cuffs might work in the short term. Sleeves too short also causes that annoying tearing around the button up cuff bit when you flex your elbow.

If your company were doing their bit "for the environment" it would be too damned cold to consider taking your jacket off, so go green and smash the heating control panels...

Due to a good schooling where you got a belt for sitting with your elbows on the desks it's not a problem I have faced, those slaps have probably saved me considerable money in new shirts :) Thank you Mr. Bailey.

I associate elbow patches with nerdy pointy elbow people, the ones who constantly rip the elbow sections on their shirts

I think it would be better IMO to just not have such pointy elbows in the first place.

Exactly. Have you thought about simply changing your career OP? Maybe to one that doesn't allow so much time to lean on elbows?
