Elden Ring

Thank you. Sorry yes summons. I was missing the bell.

The frame rate is really choppy on ps5. Am I missing something? Got it on Priortise Frame Rate.
If you are finding the ps5 prioritise frames option choppy the only other option is to download the ps4 version. Which runs at a locked 60fps on ps5 but has lower details than the ps5 version.

I finally tested Mohgs spear yesterday and it is one of the best weapon I've used (tied with blasphemous blade).

The ash of war is incredible - I changed my talisman setup to have fire scorpion, shard of Alexander and the one which halves skill fp usage (so I can spam it).

The moves set is great, the charged r2 has a flame effect and to top it the horse combat moves are also really good.

I'm quite new to this game
And I can't beat the first boss
Margit the Fell Omen
Any help please
I would recommend exploring everywhere south of the margit area - you will level naturally, gain new weapons, talismans and spells. Along with extra heals. By the time you have completed all the dungeons/castles and ruins in this area you will be much higher level. Also make sure to upgrade your weapon of choice at least to +3 as this can make all the difference.

At the start the jellyfish summon is pretty strong as he has a big health pool and can help you get attacks in without retaliation.

Try to learn the attack patterns, concentrate on dodge rolling his attacks (make sure your armor is medium or light load otherwise your rolls will be very slow).

Time your heals wisely as its easy to waste them if you rush.

Which starting character are you using and which weapon, as I may be able to help more with these details. Good luck

This game just keeps on giving - I found a grace I had never found before last night in the well in the capital. I thought I had found everything in that area but no - it lead to a few useful bits culminating in a boss fight which gave me a bleed talisman which perfectly fits my mohg spear build.

I found a summon I had not found before today. I remembered I had not been down to the bottom of the huge lift in Raya Lucaria in my current playthrough, on the way down I noticed on the lift a piece of land I could jump across to and there were a couple of enemies and a summon.

Finally finished my 5th playthrough, bit of a weird ending though - I beat malenia easily with mohgs spear and black Knight tiche. I then could not beat radagon/elden beast with my build, I ended up changing to an int based build with the clayman harpoon and the ice spear ash of war and the mimic summon. Beat them 1st try with this the ash of war destroys elden beast. I got the frenzied flame ending done.

I have now started Monster Hunter Rise on Gamepass on my series x with a duel blades build - seems nice so far.

If you want a good rune farming area I found one near mohgwhyns palace, found it while doing varre quest, another one is those little black ninja guys in north caelid I can’t remember how much I got from them but it was easy if sneak up and backstab them.

This game just continues to amaze me I’m still doing ranni quest line and Norkron… the scenery…wow.

Any advice on rot? I’ve got to cross the lake for the next part of the quest I believe
For the rot lake if you have faith there is an incantation which cures rot damage. There is a mushroom armour set which has high rot resist. You can also get the recipe for a rot cure with ingredients you can then farm. 2 talismans also increase your rot resist stats.

Same here, I just couldn't bear the uneven performance and ridiculous grass pop-in.

PS5 ver runs ok in certain areas but when it gets going during riding around... oh, boy. Not even VRR helps and it feels terrible.

Too bad PS4 ver has such weak foliage. Realistically, it should easily run at 60fps locked on PS5 with all the bells and whistles but From's "optimisation" is legendary at this point. Great game but the technical side of it is a mess.
Tried it today and nearly deleted all my saves (500hrs plus!!!). I did the ps4 conversion and wiped over all my ps5 saves. Luckily I have ps+ and dived into cloud saves and downloaded the ps5 er saves and my stress was ended.

Anyway I tried the RT mode and whilst it looked gorgeous, it was too framey for me. I turned it off after running through the opening upto Vaire.

I couldn't decide what to play after getting back from walking the dog yesterday, so turned to my old favourite and started my 8th playthrough of Elden Ring. I started as the duel scimitar warrior with the aim of creating a dex focused poison build.

I managed to farm a couple of falcions from the cave that leads to the first dragon communion island and bought a shortbow for a ranged option. I've levelled vigor to 20, dex to 20 and endurance to 12. I will probably pump endurance to 15 and then concentrate on getting arcane to 20 (poison and bleed scale with arcane and has the added bonus of better item discovery).

One possibility for the build could be to duel weild poison infused falcions but have a second pair infused with bleed to switch to at will.

I'm hyped for the dlc drop at the end of the month. I need to decide which of my 2 main builds to go with Arcane / Faith with the option of Mohgs Spear or Blasphemous Blade or my Magic Int Clayman Spear build with the ice Spear ash of war.

Hopefully there will be some cool new spells and weapons & ashes to try out.

I have Friday and most of Saturday free. I am busy during the day on Sunday but have the evening free. The hardest decision is do I stay up until midnight and then pull an all nighter but then feel rough on Friday, or do I go to bed early tonight and set my alarm for 5am.

I've pre made my weekend meals in plastic tubs so I just need to either boil pasta, rice or noodles to go with it to maximise gaming time. I've stocked up on Aldi Coke zero (6x 3 litres) and fruit for snacks.

I cannot wait to fully experience this new dlc and look forward to exploring every nook and cranny for precious loot.

Just a quick note for those wanting to play at midnight on ps5 there is now an update to Elden Ring itself which is now live (in addition to the dlc). Its 15gb so pretty big.

I've downed Mesmer and just beat a poison scorpion boss. I almost lost my mind trying to beat the pig riding boss but eventually got him.

Not come across the hippo yet but a dragon's the only boss I've struggled against so far, didn't have the patience to grind him down slowly so rushed him and got splatted repeatedly :D

The Lion King and Rellana were both easy enough though, a +25 Prince of Death staff along with the Death Rancor spell minces most enemies and I've barely leveled up Faith yet.
Everything dies to Astels Meteor and the unlimited fp tear, with an offhand meteor staff to boost the damage as a mage, especially when using the mimic

I just absolutely nuked bale with astelles meteor I managed to perfectly time an infinite fp flask with a boosted Astelles Meteor whilst bale was agro'd on my mimic tear. 3 quarters of his health bar got wiped it was so satisfying after struggling with him for a while
