Electric bill since working from home

Do those hours fluctuate or tend to stay about the same? Surprised peak pricing ends at 7PM

Always the same.

Base price is 2.1x the wholesale price (plus VAT). Between 4pm and 7pm there's an additional 12p per kWh levvy, with a 35p per kWh (inc VAT) cap.

Prices are linked to half hourly day-ahead wholesale prices. So yeah, they change daily.

Prices include VAT.

Standing charge is 22p per day.

If you already have a smart meter, there are various third-party sites which can look at your usage and tell you what Agile would actually cost you. I use Smart At Home. I just hop on and check the last 30 days every so often. If I'm still saving money vs Octopus Go and Bulb, I'll stick with Agile. If it becomes more expensive over an extended period, I'll switch away.

to the OP - i am not sure what you are doing.. but my daily reads are approx 5 units.. (ie the meter reading only increase by 5-6 each day)..

during the day i dont have lights on, i do have TV on & laptop..

I am with scottish power & their charges are very LOW afaik.. (i am on their april 21 tariff) and only have between 60-80£ bill every month for both gas/elec..

gas = 2.338p (unit price) * 17.220p (standing charge)
elect = 12.499p (unit price) * 17.090p (standing charge)

Just checked my usage out of interest -

Last 4 months I've used 133 kWh more electricity, at a cost of £21.71 but 616.59 kWh less gas, at a saving of £24.17... so I'm £2.46 better off working from home plus the savings on commuting. :D

That's a modern 2 bed flat with two adults.

House size, people you live with, water timings, electric only or electric and gas?

Electric. Gas is with another company and that was a similar amount too. 2 bed terrace, just me but on furlough so at home all day. Combi boiler, no heating on since early May.

My average kWh price over the past month on Agile was 6.91p (incl. standing charge) :)

So not electric only (if your gas is with another company)
2 people use more electric that one. Bills were lower when I was living alone but had redular visitors like girlfriend and friends/family.
Heating, (electric radiators) we havent had it on since about May either but the chunk of the money will be electric heating water

I presume you have been heating water with gas?

Years ago in a student house, British gas cut us off so we just didnt use any gas for 6 months (May - October I think) No hot water but the cooker was electric and we used an electric fan heater. October cold showers were a 'fresh' wake up!

£36 pm on avg, no real variance.

4 Bed Semi, lodgers away, GF visits occasionally. She spent 2 weeks here during that period with her work setup, hair straighteners etc too.

Wouldn't dream of asking my employer for anything even if I were out of pocket because I'd still have a job...

Yep water is heated with gas on demand as it's a combi boiler. So for a whole month I've had PC on 24/7, a fridge freezer + a 2nd freezer, TV on a 3-4 hours a day and my electric bill was still only £24 plus all my lights are low wattage LED. For me to have used the same about of leccy as you I'd have had to have a 2 bar electric heater on 24/7.

Does your usage count standing charge?

Is your usage Actual or Estimated?

Includes standing charge and is actual reading as I put them in myself onto Bulb's website on same date every month. No estimates or dumb smart meters here.

My cooker is all electric too but I only been making quick meals, no 2 hour long roasts or anything like that.
