Electric Shavers...

Thanks for your comments all, I'm using a mach 3 at the moment but the blades cost around £5, just wanted something that would be quick and no fuss with gel/foam etc

I'll have a good think about what you all said.

How does you Braun compare to the Phillips that you had?

Much better, but the Phillips was at least 5 years old and I hadn't replaced the heads. I'm not sure how they would compare new, as my memory isn't that good. So I'm probably no use if you were thinking of comparing models.

Phillips HQ7782 Coolskin Shaver. Got it 2 years ago and use it every day, excellent but not as close as a wet shave ;)

A friend of mine uses the Babyliss I-Trim to get a stuble look rather than the baby faced look. He swears by it.

The Phillips model that was posted on Boots is decent if you want to use it every day or 2 for a quick shave.
I found that with any electric shaver if you leave it for a good few days and try it, it does feel like hairs are being pulled out and not cut. But if you use it everyday/every other day then its fine as the hairs are short enough to be cut and not pulled.

I've still got a phillishave one from 3 years ago and it works great, I've never wet shaved before though so I can't comment on the difference. 2-3 minutes in front of the mirror and my phillishave leave my face ultra smooth.

So whats good for getting just stubble?
For a baby smooth I`ll stick to wet shaving but I`d like something for during the week when I cant be arsed.

Beard trimmer. I've got a Remington one but that "Itrim" is supposed to be good.

Electric razors are not able to cut beard hair as effectively as a razor can. They mash, pull and tear hairs instead of cutting them effectively and close to your skin.

The adverts are not lying for the multi blade tech as I have seen the research. Just get a different shave prep and you will find it much better, also change the blade more often as this is the only way to getting a better shave everyday.

What razor do you currently have anyway? Maybe we could suggest something better for wet shaving? You could shave in the shower as this is becoming rather popular in america right now as additional hydration of the hair is the biggest factor for reducing cutting force of hair.

I'd agree with this one - just don't bother with the expensive Nivea pouches, use ordinary King of Shaves shaving gel instead - wet shave with an electric razor, good if your skin can't handle a blade.

Have a look at the Braun series of shavers. I've found them to be much better than Remington and Philishave.

Very much the case! I recently bought this http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/sto...me=&categoryId=4675&langId=-1&catalogId=11051 in the boots half price sale :) gives one of the niceist shaves and smells nice with the cool docking station.

Then again i cant actually wet shave (always always slice up my face a little which is bad when you need to be looking good for something) so you might find this a little weird to start with (but i find foils much nicer to use than the weird round headed ones)

Electric shavers are a load of rubbish IMO. If you got fair coloured beard you can get away with them. As I got dark brown beard it never shaves close enough and makes my skin sore for the whole day!

Wet shave is the way to go - quick all over in the shower... actually quicker than using a electric.

I have stubble and just shave under my neck. I do have a £10 Philishave that I sometime use for the neck... As they use the same blades and heads as more expensive ones try one of those if you still intrested in electric shavers.
