Electric Shavers...

Electric shavers have always left me feeling itchy and the skin blotchy...

Wet shave with a good blade and a good oil or gel > * if your using the standard gilette gel/razor combo and not getting on with it you might wanna give an oil a try.

Have a look at the Braun series of shavers. I've found them to be much better than Remington and Philishave.

Agree.

The cleaner cartridges can be had for about £10 for a box of 3 (including delivery) and they last ages.

Found that the cheap electric shavers just tug the hair out... an expensive phillips did a much better/kinder job but, as everyone else has pointed out, not as good as a wet shave.

For a pain and burn free wet shave, try the Gillette M3, which uses a AAA battery to vibrate the razor head.

Best.
Shave.
Ever.

My other half got me a Philishave Arcitc 1905 and I have to say it is actually really good. Coming from a Mach 3 I wasn't expecting much tbh. She paid areound £120 which was pretty cheap.

Ive paid even more and with the nivia sachets that supposedly help moisturise your skin. They burn, they itch, it feels horrible and never ever get close enough.

Im afraid its fusion / mach3 all the way for me.

Totally agree with this guy. I had an £80 phillishave but it caused too much irritation, so my dad got that and I went with fusion, so much better. Not to mention much quicker to get a decent shave.

Well I like both electric and wet.

It all depends on what you want and what type of hair you grow. There are some people that can get away without shaving for 2-3 days, dont want to, or you're not fussy about the perfect shave, id guess that electric would be ok. If you want zero stuble then wet is the only way to go really.

The other major factor is time and convenience. Electric can be done anytime in 1 minute. A proper wet shave you're looking at having a shower, preparing the stubble for shaving...and so on, which cant be dont in a big hurry.

Also I find wetshaving really difficult in winter, its colder, mirrors steam up easier, and its generally just a big pain in the backside.

I'm suprised so many people have issues with electric shavers  I've never had any irritation at all from electric.

I find electric to be a lot nicer on my skin, rather than taking a layer of skin off the electric is nice and smooth whilst being quick too.

I can't be bothered to wet shave using a razor every morning! A slightly wet eletric gets a close enough shave for my liking. I only use a £50 phillips shaver/trimmer and it's perfect. :)

Braun shavers in my experience can give an excellent shave, close to what a blade can do. I have tried Remington and Philips and they were not as good.

Personally I would pick an electric shaver over a wet shave any day. I have a Braun series 7 shaver and always find its leaves your face feeling so much smoother than a normal razor would do. Plus it cleans itself :D

Get a Braun 570cc.. I picked a brand new one up on Ebay for £70 delivered! They cost around £170 in shops! :)

I'm a big fan of Braun shavers, had owned my previous one for 5 years and it was great..

Persevere with an electric shaver, and eventually your skin will get used to an electric shave. It took me about 4 weeks of shaving for the irritation and redness to go - annoying and almost painful at first - now it simply doesn't happen, especially if you follow the directions (making small, quick circles with a Phillips rotary). I can now have a close shave in just a few minutes, so much quicker and more convenient than a wet shave. I think the shaver I bought cost about £65.
