Trailer have been released for part two of ELEX.

ELEX II is the sequel to ELEX, the vintage open-world role-playing experience from the award-winning creators of the Gothic and Risen series, Piranha Bytes. ELEX II returns to the post-apocalyptic Science Fantasy world of Magalan – with massive environments that can be explored with unrivaled freedom via jetpack, you will be able to move through the epic story any way you want.

Looking forward to this game, really enjoyed the first ELEX !

I have the first one but have never downloaded it. Worth a play?

If you've played other Piranha Bytes games you'll know what to expect. If not, you'll get a much more detailed world than most RPGs, complex quests with multiple resolutions, the usual vying factions with skills and gear locked according to the one you pick, and the combat... which a lot of people don't like. Elex is especially brutal, particularly early on when the puniest creature is a challenge. You won't want to leave town without a companion until late in the game.

Yes it is worth playing as the others been saying. Just one word of warning, no hand holding and you be severely weak at the beginning, a monster looking at you sideways and your dead kind of weak ! :p
Defiantly definitely.

Thanks all. I do remember liking the look of it when I watched a trailer once. I went a bit crazy buying games and bundles over the past few years that I have now have 1000+ games in my Steam library and have no idea what games I own anymore! I haven't played a fantasy RPG for a while so I think I'll give it a go once I'm done with AC Valhalla.

Is it worth adding some mods?

An improved flare mod was essential for me. Jax doesn't have a torch, he uses magnesium flares and by default the effective radius is tiny. Dark places in the game are really dark, and the contrast effect on moving into a building is far too strong for me, so I needed more light. Could maybe be because my monitor isn't HDR.

Another mod to consider is one that constantly keeps the effects of sunglasses active. Different types of sunglasses let you track different things, herbs, technology, animals, enemies, but only one at a time, and you can't use them with helmets that provide armour or protect from gas/radiation/e.t.c. I really hope they've moved the tracking into learnable skills for Elex 2.

Elex 2 is looking pretty good, always going to have a certain amount of jank involved, as its almost their trademark, but does look a little more polished than usual
