Elite! Very possibly!

Sorry,

I doubt we will see a direct port version of the BBC or Amiga version over to the PC, the PC has come way to past us relics of the 80's and early 90's home PC gamers for this game to work now..... Multiplayer sounds good in a way, but I doubt it would work. Purely for players to battle each other in packs, would consider much time and organising, and need a large server for amounts of players playing at irregular intervals for it to work properly. Although it does sound fun, and a lot of it, if you get jhardcore old timers like us invloved.

Freelancer shows that it can work......okay the economy is static, but there are servers with 80 people on and battles and trading is happening frequently

I'm getting the urge to dig out one of my Amiga's to play Frontier, I remember it used to fly once i put an 030 card with FPU in :)

Freelancer is not Elite...... thats the question, not mark up copies.....

So soz dude, doesnt make up for the classic that was/is Elite

My personal opinion is that just about everyone here will be old and grey and marveling at their newly acquired free bus pass before this thing is ever released......I guess for some of us 'older gamers' that time is not far away actually :D

Not knocking the franchise, the original Elite and its sequels were great (for the time) but Mr Braben has been making noises or promising to deliver a new version for years now.
