I believe that all the data your Tesla gathers as you drive it about is uploaded to HQ and that data makes Tesla the most valuable "Motor Manufacturing" company.
for a start its not the most valuable.
secondly it uploads only some data (uploading all the data from 8 cameras plus the other sensors would be insane amounts of data) as well as running in shadow mode to train the neural network.
it isn't used for advertising or personal data collection etc.

teslas worth a huge amount, because it's far more than just a car company(which many people dont realise or on purpose forget when writing articles) as well as trading on what people think it will be worth in the future.
