This isnt the olden days

This is the future!
Cos in the olden days you didnt get payed to go to school/college

my parents pay the same taxes that your parents/you (didn't bother to check your age) pay. And its a lame excuse really, if they didn't give it to family's with less income, then they would probably ship it to other EU country's along with the other millions in child benefits!
Also 2 of these 3 passed all the exams which when compared to their GCSE results is quite strange!! It seems to work from my experience so therefore I have no problems with my TAX going on it as it's money well spent imho. It’s like the student loans, if you r parents don’t earn much you don’t have to pay them back. Well when I was at college my parents earnt too much so I had to get a repayable loan, even though I had to pay it back myself and my parents didn’t help at all! Absolutely stupid.
Oh and all this about allowing people from poor families to go to college is irrelevant. That’s what the non-repayable £3000 maintenance loan that they get given each year is for.
And how on earth is one of the objectives of EMA to ensure people turn up when you are financially assessed for it? If the main objective was as an incentive to turn up wouldn't it apply to everyone?

Anyway back ontopic, I do agree that the EMA is a waste of space there though, if they wanted to help, pay for bus passes or some such, I wouldnt give a kid £30 and let them spend it on what they wanted, thats just plain idiotic.
.
. Does everyone else in college get card things that your tutor needs to sign each class? Thats what i get and need to get done, but our tutors are on strike and are refusing to sign them lol.I got EMA - it made me stay in school, too - £20 a week to do something I should've been doing anyway?! get in!
hey guys anyone on ema and have u been paid yours yet, im in my second week of college and no sign of it yet

Aint got it here either mate, appearently its due friday next week![]()
EMA is a big taboo on here, a lot of people myself included think it is an utter waste of time and tax-payers money.
There is no fair way of giving out money to school kids, i wasn't paid to return to school because my parents earn too much but didn't lavish money on me whereas some who do get money handed out left right and center from their parents.
I'm not in the mood for a debate before anyone has a go.
If you want to know when it is coming phone them.

but you get used to that...)YAWN.![]()
Not everyone needs an incentive to turn up
My mate Paddy at college would never have achieved what he did last year if it wasn't for EMA, his GCSE's were awful as he hardly ever turned up!
A lot of bitter and jealous people here me thinks![]()
