Emergency Laparoscopic Appendectomy Experience.

Wow what a story. Doesn't surprise me in the slightest though what with the nhs being what it is now guess you're lucky you had someone to drive you there wonder how many don't make it that far
Without a doubt. The NHS is struggling and needs a new life. That scenario could have meant the difference between being here now or not.

How sensible is it in this sort of situation to redial 999 and ask the police if an escort could be available?
We were told if I lose consciousness on the way, for the driver to pull over and call 999 - probably to be told it doesn’t warrant an ambulance and call 111 again.

glad your on the mend. just to add i would gladly pay the nurses anything they wanted having just experienced what they have to go through on the wards .
no great details jsut over a week ago pains in my chest, after lots of faffing around (gp) 111 tried to get me a ambulance but i refused and made my own way.
ct scan at 11.30 at night large blood clot on lungs and 7 days in hospital problem not helped by having covid as well (unbeknown) those doctors and nurses burton absolute heroes ,now back home on thinning meds and a new type of tablet just approved, god bless our nhs.
Gosh, sorry to hear this. I’m glad you’re on the mend too. The nurses on the ward were absolutely incredible, there for me every time I called. Hats off and total respect.
