Qualifying is a practice session though. Isn't it still officially called qualifying practice?

Cars might have to lock into a setup for the whole weekend, without running a single lap before qualifying later, due to the rain and circuit conditions?

That appears to be the case, yes. I wonder whether they would call exceptional circumstances and allow setup changes in FP2 for the Sprint/Race if that happens.

Yeah, the rain is much lighter than earlier. A few bits of the track look hairy but I think they'll be okay.

Overenthusiastic dropping of the red flag as Norris ends up in the kitty litter, but manages to drive out. Might have time for one more lap if they get it running quickly enough but otherwise I think that's it.

Ferrari look fast, Red Bull a way behind. Haas looking strong here, at least in these conditions. Williams missing their paddle.

Was going to put a punt on LH to win the race on Sunday if it rains but from FP1 looks like they are struggling quite a bit with the setup.

Will see how quali/sprint goes.

Why wouldn’t you park up immediately and let the Marshalls deal with it using some extinguishers?

Seems very silly to leave your car drive like that on the racing line.

Because he has done chance of making a quali run this way.
