From what I understand, MGK said M’s daughter was “****ing hot” when she was 16/17 but MGK was only 21 at the time. So all things considered a little harsh from M, I think.

Well he dissed rappers he thinks are ruining hiphop with this new mumble rap rubbish or people that have said things about him etc. He has always done that, I think people would see straight through it if he suddenly dissed a load of 'hiphop giants' as a publicity stunt.
Do you listen to any UK rap? I have gone off most American rap myself in recent years and found the UK rap scene to be far more interesting. Cas is Dead is worth a listen, but could be a bit too heavy with the drug talk for some.
it was a pr stunt but he only mentioned smaller rappers and i guess you already know that MGK already instantly replied.like he knew he would.clever of eminem i knew it would happen great PR for the album.just wish he would have included better people who would really challenge him. tbh MGK effort is not bad.
the exact same happened here as what eminem done on this album in uk with chipmunk and other grime artists to get him noticed again.involved 7-8 of em. they respond to each other gets people on their music again.
there is loads of good uk people far more talented than the current crop of usa mumble crappers. you just have to do a bit of researching. cas is dead is good. potty paper is really good if you look past his image and listen to the bars.
with hiphop rap many people like different things beat on a song is a big thing for me also the vibe of it.many can be lyrical but not have the swag of say biggy doing it. thats why some better lyrical people are in my opinion worse at rap hip hop like eminem. yes great lyrically but the style he does it is just like a drill boring in your head. people like mf doom are better than em more clever lyrics but i dont get the hiphop swag vibe from him.rakim of the usa hiphop legends is probably at his peak the best eg of flow lyricist swag vibe. biggy also. if you understand how bars are biggy does some really clever stuff that many dont even notice because of how effortless he delivers it.

Not actually sure I have heard any UK hip hop for years, probably find me listening to Grime more, which given the different backing music is essentially just rap anyway.

if you deep into the art of it there are great youtube videos on breaking down bars and the science of it. then you really see who is great or good.
i do listen to loads of different music aswell. grime i like as long as its not the usual garbage there is lots of talented people like ghetts for eg who are better than literally 99 percent of usa rappers.worst thing is you see americans doing or borrowing our style for last two years plus cause its hot and only thing usa doing well is drake and mumble garbage. drake does work with uk people and put them on but he also borrows a lot of their style.which i think is the real reason why he links up .

Funny thing is now MGK has finally got the attention he has craved solely because he has dissed Em. I posted a freestyle from MGK months ago in the Hip-hop thread and no one even batted an eyelid, now Em's name is attached everyone is curious. That's how it works.
I also find it curious as to how he managed to write, produce, make a music video and release this dis track with in days of Em dropping a unannounced surprise album containing a track dissing MGK!.
It now makes what Em said on The Ringer almost quite prophetic

Eminem called this album Kamikaze which doesn't make sense in a lot of ways so maybe he IS killing his own fame for his daughter who knows.
I'd heard of him before but never paid him any attention, watched that Rap Devil video last night, it's not bad actually and does have me wondering if he's done anything else decent. Massively fallen out of love with US hip hop since the mumble rappers came along.
I find myself listening to old UK Akala albums & mixtapes more than anything recent these days.

yeah knew it was going to happen it was set up before the album dropped to get hype and buzz. as said it was done recently in uk to boost people careers again in grime worked well. one person dissed another they mentioned someone else.he sent for someone else. loads involved got the scene people watching again.
usa hip hop does need people like em and good people to pipe up get some of this mumble crap gone . em does address this showing how easy it is to mumble rap and dc suse rap . hat cat bat yada yada on a hot beat. if i hear a song and they do this after a few bars with no variation straight off.
i do get there is making hits vs the culture art of it though. so no doubt there is some who are just doing easy stuff for money when they could be doing really smart great stuff.

It's a good album but I don't feel like it's one to be remembered. Some great tracks, some not so great tracks.
Also I really wish he'd just move away from Skits, they just sound more stupid as he gets older.

sheer genius as said uk people been doing this for years. i mentioned this earlier in the thread.chipmunk did it to get him noticed again. just call out people they respond whole scene jumps on it and social media. now hes a genius so what about all the others who do this before him ?
