Isn't an Emo a large flightless bird native to Australia?

Whilst serving customers on the check-outs today, i was discussing My Chemical Romance with a woman around the age of 40. She was buying Kerrang! for her daughter. Anyways, it ended up with her blurting out: "Are you emo?".

I giggled and demonstrated i could bite my fringe.

\o/

But i never call myself, anything.

It's just the latest incarnation of the general phase of being a depressed, pathetic, confused teenager which has always been around.

No more, no less.

Watch Sesame Street.

He's a little pink monster with a squeeky voice.

Kids like him.

He helps kids reach the boundaries of happiness which borders with lasting depression. Sometimes kids fall over into that.

What was the question again?

EMO

Acronym [E.M.O]

Electronic Manhood Obligation
- The need to increase ones postcount unnecessarily in order to achieve status.

See. E-Willy, Gilly

[GILLYERISED: Thats EPE, Electronic Penis Envy. You'll grow out of it eventually]

Never a duplicated answer in this section ;)

Here is my understanding....

The female emo:

Sort of gothic, dark hair colour, piercings and mental poetry. You know, like;

Today was great for me,
he said hi my girlfriend to be,
I smiled so much,
At the thought of his touch,
Now I wanna cry,
lemme get my razor and die die die!!

I find they are generally stuck up, beliving they are naturally born not to be socially acceptable but have a guy they can love, they hate people too (I think).

As for the boys; they have that hair over the eye thing (always black or black with hint of blond/red) and they generally are gay..

Hope that helps lol

Don't they often have their hair across one side of their face, so it covers their eye in some cases? Must make depth perception awkward :p . I have no strong opinions toward them otherwise.

You mean just like the Human League?

Can somebody tell me what Emo music is and name some acts so I know what I'm not supposed to listen to?

I would have to say looking at my little brother collection that these are a few emo bands.

Panic at the Disco
Chemical Romance
Funeral for a Friend

Things like that really, so emo bands have changed from the 80s and is now basicaly the Whiney and whingy teeny bands :p

Its such an american term as well.

There will always be emo types just a different name will apply. So ill stick with... "***** *****s

Nobody seems to have mentioned the journals, where they write the kind of poetry seen above. Or thereabouts....
