End of PC Gaming

There are still tonnes of great PC games I've yet to play, as well as many I'm very much looking forward to being released.

Can't see the end of PC gaming anywhere in my horizon.

too many games, not enough time to play them. its seems i buy them to sit on my shelf, rather than play them these days. ive been with pc gaming since 286/386 days and i dont see any slow down. pc gaming isnt dying any time soon

PC gaming will never end when there is a demand for the latest hardware, primarily gpu's, theres a market for it, therefore no end to gaming

Poor choice of title as i'm sure most people just ignore the thread :p

However its an interesting set of quotes and has sealed the fact that i'm not shelling out for MW2.

The choice of title isnt really a good one.

It isnt the end of computer gaming. It just shows how greedy companies are ensuring that piracy continues by overcharging for games. All you need to do is look at the huge quantity of buggy half hearted releases ea bring out and you would wonder whether its worth spending so much to find out if its decent or not.

That guy is a *****! I know one person rarely makes a difference but I'm going to avoid all Activision titles if buying them means lining this ****wit's pockets even more.

I think when you look at something like mag for the ps3, it becomes pretty clear. That PC gaming while not dyeing, is being moved to the sidelines. With the biggest and best releases being console firsts.

I've just got a ps3, and I'am absolutely blown away by it. I couldn't even believe how much I'd been missing out on games like uncharted, killzone 2, mgs and such. They are just incredible, the work that goes into them surpasses any pc game since hl2 imo.

Then again the PC is great for certain things. Multiplayer fps rules, and older rpg's such as kotor are awesome. But the true next gen experience is on the consoles. My first reaction with the ps3 games was "wow, it feels like i'am playing a movie".

Killzone 2 - A boring FPS with very little story line and maxium repetition

MGS - Yes you are playing a movie, only there isnt much playing to be done.

Unchartered 2 - I will argree this is bloody good!

You are clearly in bed with your console right now but maybe try some PC only titles before you get married to it

Killzone 2 shines in multiplayer, i agree the single player is lacking but as far as multiplayer goes it's the first console game to even come close to some of the best PC multiplayer FPS' (though it still didn't surpass them).

Care to suggest some recent PC only games? I've not seen one that remotely interests me in a long, long time. I only ask as i do love playing on my PC but i'm frankly sick of TF2, CoH and Sins of a Solar Empire. That robot, point and click adventure looks good, but from what i hear it's incredibly short. Ho hum, back to Baldur's Gate i go.

Yes Killzone MP is better but FPS on consoles are just turd anyway, but talkin of which try Battlefield 1943, better than killzone imo.

Machinarium is full of charm, though I havent played it myself the gf completed it the other day and said it was very good if a little on the short side.
Maybe you should try Crysis (the obvious one I know) very entertaining but you'll need a decent PC unfortunately.
Or try some RTS's such as the Medieval's or Anno 1404 which chews your life up once you get into it.

There is doom and gloom about PC gaming every so often on a regular basis, yet here we are still gaming on our PCs!

My view is that publishers are just more conscious about profits and dont like the fact that PC games make them less money than console versions. I am pretty sure that PC gaming still amounts to a lot of money for the industry so its not going away any time soon! Besides people will ALWAYS develop for the PC.

I much prefer BF2 to 1943 tbh.

Crysis is well over a year old now, in fact the only one i'd class as recent out of that list is Anno and that was released in the summer. I've played them all and had my fill of them tbh.

Has anyone read what this **** has said about gaming:

This is the guy who screwed COD Modern Warfare 2 on pc.

He's got me fuming with his absolute contempt for all gamers, including consoles.:mad:

Cue the never ending annual release of repackaged crap with a dose of overly priced 'controllers' that will no doubt be incompatible with the previous incarnation.

If you ever wondered if you (as a gamer) were ever seen as anything more than a cash cow for these guys, then wonder no more!

Thats the end of me ever buying Activision stuff again.
Long live Steam and some innovation in the industry.

For what reason did he screw COD Modern Warfare 2 , so is it screwed on console format ?
