Gas prices have been rising a bit since January and grid use of gas is actually quite high at the moment. Low wind is causing the pricing mainly. Very few days with excess or high generation from renewables right now.

This has been my thinking all along. Wait for the prices to drop to their lowest this year (ie: 1st of July this year) then fix for 12 months.

Energy regulator Ofgem has announced the new Energy Price Cap, with prices set to drop by 7% on average from 1 July.www.moneysavingexpert.com
Price cap drops July but goes back up October and January, just in time for autumn and winter.
Time to look for a fix.
My only worry is that perhaps the prices will fall below my fix in Spring 2025.

I am sure the energy companies are dumb enough to not take into account the actual expected cost over the next 12 months when they set the fix prices.

Don't know about others but I use 5x more gas in Nov-March than the rest of the year. Pretty much thought the same, but posted here anyway so others knew what response they were sending out to those who took part.

I've decided to move from flexible to fix with Octopus after all as it's around £4-5 cheaper a month, and no exit fees, so can always change again if necessary.
I always find it interesting to look at the grid stats. Taking 28% of supply from interconnectors at the moment.

Good to know, I just find it interesting. Bumped up to about 40-45% renewables later in the day.

I've reported my post, asking the mods to remove it if they deem it unsuitable.
