Defenitly cooler now, now can wear long sleeved top without sweating, no where near heating temps for me though, room temp is 16C. I expect at 16C, most would turn on heating?

Below 16c is where I'll stick the heating on too. At the moment though, solar gain throughout the day lifts the internal temperature before the kids get back from school.

Thanks to Go and Solar my October usage was pretty good, I'm definitely going to be dipping into more full price peak units starting this month though.

93% of those units were off-peak cheap units.

The struggle is real.

October was a split month as I changed tariff.

Standing charge has gone from £63.80/pa to £149.91/pa :(

I used 739.1 units. 2.4 of those units outside of Go

Similar situation to me
I'm using about 97% of Grid use from off-peak, no gas for central heating (due to a warmer October than usual) and using solar or off-peak to heat water.
With the Government £66 support payment and my £30 direct debit i'm still gaining credit. This also includes 'fuel' for my EV for about 1,000 miles each month.

Just changed my central heating settings to 16 morning when we get up and 17 evening
They will go up again but below those points we would want it to warm up a bit

Cold here today and you can really tell that the solar gain whilst happening isn't going to be enough to get it warm before it goes dark and the temps start to fall

I turn ours on at 18!

Set at 20 in our office rooms.

Current fixed plan ends this weekend, gas going from 3.85p/kWh to a variable plan, at almost double the price. Been draught proofing any windows/doors that needed it and even decided to try radiator reflectors, and looking on the Hive app the rooms now reach the targeted temperature faster and lose less heat when it's off. Luckily I built a fair bit of credit over the summer and with the £66 support payment I should be fine over the winter.

Now I just need to work out what else I can do for electrical saving. Already turned off a few devices instead of leaving them on standby. Tempted to leave the desktop off and go full Steam Deck if it gets really bad.

I swapped out my desktop/gaming PC out for an intel NUC, as its on 24/7, gaming rig now only on for gaming 2-3 hours a week.
Swapped out my 34" wide screen as it was using 54W to a 27"/1440 that uses 12W.

It will hopefully go lower. But that'd be back to £400 per month this way.

I can only hope our massive efforts drop our electricity use. Can only do so much about gas. Obviously and hope it's all super cheap by then.

Our usage should be on here 4000 elec, 16,000 gas. Hoping to get that down a bit.

I'm just wondering if anybody has undervolted their CPU in the BIOS to see if they can save any money that way? It's free, possibly lengthens the lifespan of your CPU and it takes a few minutes to do.

I've offset my CPU voltage by 0.130v and it hasn't crashed or shown any negative signs as a result. I'd say my wattage is reduced by about 2.5w - which adds up, as it's on 24/7.

Any other tips? Other than turn my PC off, of course. ;)

A whopping £7.50ish saved a year there :p

I have undervolted though, but more for heat reasons than savings.

You can limit max CPU % via power plant in Windows if you want to lower CPU power usage. Pain is undoing it when you need it.

Stock for my cpu under load was around 1.36v if I remember right, I have fixed it at 1.25v, quite a drop and stable. Much bigger than a 2.5w saving. Although peak clock is down 100mhz with this as well, but my all core clock is higher than stock.

Btw not laughing at what you said, more those estimated prices are a joke.

If the cap is removed and those are what people will be paying in April then it's going to come as a huge shock to people!

Yeesh, at least it’ll be going into summer but that’s double the rates under the EPG isn’t it?
