Energy Prices (Strictly NO referrals!)

I didn’t say that but they’ve had experience in posting letters which is all the voucher is.
they said a lot were coming via email too but in their spam/junk folders. I always check my junk (ooer) every day before i empty it. cos there's always 1 in there that gets incorrectly spammed. Can't help stupid !

On another note EDF just paid me my next £66, yay free electric (Fixed Tariff from mid 2021) (no gas here)

They idiots, they charged me £119 for October by discounting the £66, then also refunded me the £66 to my bank account as well. So now I'm £66 in debt to them. Either they're dumb as a bag of bricks or they're being deliberate to keep me in debt to them

Yesterday we had the heating on, ran the washing machine and 2 loads in the tumble drier and had a dehumidifier running all day, 2 computers and monitors etc running all day and the TV on for quite a bit of the day. Oh and a beastly coffee machine that uses a fair bit of energy. We still spent about £9 on a SVR package.
You have double glazing and insulation and whatever else works I would guess. Anyone who missed a few of those points would I estimate be able to use upto 30 quid a day, the house in the street where the snow all melts off because its losing so much energy. That or she is running a weed farm. Some terrible immersion heaters and people using them for baths who should not be etc. loads of possible mistakes

Just checked the rating on my property in why it's so damn cold year in year out, and so expensive just to keep warm

Just checked mine, but it was done way before I moved in and says it's expired!

Although I think there is a typo in one section regarding how much CO2 my house apparently uses lol;

An average household produces 6 tonnes of CO2
This property produces 4749.1 tonnes of CO2
This property’s potential production 3615.2 tonnes of CO2

:D :D

So, just moved house..

We were on a British Gas fixed tarrif until Nov next year, and according to their website, we can more house and take our tariff with us...
But a phone agent says we cant and that none of the energy providers are actually honouring that anymore.
Can I actually force them to do something that they say they do on their website, or, failing that, wheres the best place to get dual fuel at the mo...

The house we've moved into has an existing supply from Shell, however they want 35.727p per kWh, 51.78p per day standing for electricity, and then for gas, 11.018p per kWh with a standing charge of 33.53p per day...

Whats the tariff they wont honour?

If its significantly different, screen grab the website, try to find any contractual details you have to support it, and then raise a formal complaint. If the complaint gets nowhere, and you believe you have a case then the ombdusman becomes an option, but you have to do a formal complaint first.

We are on "Exclusive Energy Nov 2023" electricity is 25.59p kWh and 22.40p per day and then gas is 5.31p kWh and 24.75p per day

It’s discretionary on their part. Technically you are breaching the agreement by moving and will be subject to any exit fees.

When you move you have to take up the supply of the new property, whoever that is with. That said, you don’t need to fix with them, you can go on the SVR and it should be covered by the government’s energy price guarantee.

In the past where there has been some degree of competition, they would wave the fees if you switched back to them within 30 days of moving. But like I said, they do t have to do it and frankly they probably don’t want your custom if you were fixed on such low rates.

Timing sucks tbh, I'm off to Uruguay until the end of the month on Monday..
Have to leave it with the missus to sort out.

I've worked with Platform, never seen or heard of anything this bad with them, mind you that was in tower blocks and a different area, I'd be surprised if they were doing nothing though. plus its The Sun, so there's probably more going on...

Seems electric going downwards again, bit of a surprise after the colder spell started.

This is your plunge pricing alert!

After midnight tonight there will be 5 hours of plunge pricing, which means you’ll get paid for any electricity you use
