I wasn't being sarcastic, shayper read it right.
Edit. Nice little review Borsch.
Ha, ok
And thanks
Review continues!
Armed with knowledge about splitting 8 pin plug into 2 sets of four (thanks Uncle Petey!) and also deciding to reuse the silicon insulation from my old TT PSU, I decided to give it another go.
Triathlor's 4 pin motherboard cable is shorter than the TT one and can not be routed behind the motherboard. It's not too bad though, I've routed it down the back wall and the ceiling of the case (no it does not go in front of the fan like it seems in the pic, thats an illusion).
I stand by my comment that the connectors are not as high quality on the Enermax, it takes a lot more force to jam them in/pull out than the TT ones (which were still very secure).
But, on the positive note, Enermax cables are very flat, which means I can position them so that they do not interefere with airflow. TT cables were fat and round.
I'm typing from the PC with Triathlor powering it right this moment.
And now I am hearing another problem - the PSU has a loud ticking noise that is constant. I'm pretty sure I'll have to swap it as, contrary to its box sticker, it's anything but silent at the moment. Unless it needs to run in its bearings or something... I'll record a video this evening
I see these PSUs are using all japanese capacitors. A boon for reliability. I wouldn't buy one without.
Yep, having thought about it, that is the reason I'd like to keep it
