Hi I am looking at a GT4 it has a forged engine, here is the specs of the standard engine.

http://www.gtfours.co.uk/stuff/facts/205/facts.htm

This is what has been replaced.

"Was JE pistons, AE Bearings all round, new gaskets/seals on whole engine, new pumps, and other bits and bobs."

The pistons have gone from 86mm to 86.5mm will that make much of a difference to the cc of the engine?

Does anything else need doing to strengthen the engine and are these good components.

Thanks :)

Heavy buggers they are :p

3S-GTE I think thats the engine in the MK2 MR2 isnt it?

Not a lot really and the weak link for that engine was piston ringlands but as they are bigger and new in the above engine then it does not matter. :)

Then you probably wont have any problem and might aswell get it :)

well, my ST205 engine has just cracked its block, so they aren't bulletproof :p

they suffer from ringland failure and chocolate pistons.

So they should be ok with the new pistons then? :)

300 is fine on a stock engine, you'll be OK.

is it a red car? iirc a mate of mine has just bought it :p

Nope it is a silver car with a choice of two motors, the above and a standard UK engine for less dollar. :)

Oh yeah Fox, because your post was just so helpful ;)

Si, what's the matter? Don't you trust what I was saying? :(

Yes, but as Simon has had some of the parts thought it would be good to speak to him also. :)
