Full Squad: Fraser Forster, Joe Hart; Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Nathaniel Clyne, Kieran Gibbs, Phil Jagielka, Phil Jones, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Kyle Walker; Ross Barkley, Michael Carrick, Fabian Delph, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, James Milner, Raheem Sterling, Andros Townsend, Theo Walcott; Harry Kane, Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck

How has Walcott made the cut again ahead of Young?

Also I don't see the point of having three left backs, two of which are average.

The only positive is Kane has got the go ahead, let's hope he delivers.

No Jack Colback? Sacrilege.

EDIT: Just noticed Andros Townsend is on the list. Is that a typo?

From that I would play:

Hart

Clyne
Cahill
Terry (Jagielka I suppose)
Baines

Sterling
Henderson
Delph
Milner
Walcott

Kane

Defence is awful though, when you think of the centrebacks we've had. Terry, Campbell, Adams, Keown, Woodgate, Ferdinand, Bould, King, Bruce, Pallister, Southgate...

You would but Hodgson is gonna start with Rooney up front obviously ;)

As I've said I'm not sure about wally boy Walcott he hasn't proved himself but then again hasn't had the chance to, just a shame Young didn't get a look in he has had a decent season.

Milner is a solid team player but doesn't provide much attacking wise so I would start him alongside Henderson in central midfield. Maybe a 4-2-3-1 with Delph or Lallana as CAM?

It's going to be difficult fitting in Kane, Sturridge and Rooney, we'll probably only see one or two of them up front.

Jesus wept English talent is the poorest of poor at the moment.

The standard is severely on the decline. The fact that as long as you've played a couple games for Man U you get an automatic pick should be out the window now. Shaw/Smalling/Jones, is that really the best we can offer?

Oh yes I don't imagine that team of mine would be the one picked by any stretch.

What he'll probably pick, if fit:

Hart, Shaw, Cahill, Smalling, Walker, Sterling, Carrick, Henderson, Milner, Sturridge, Rooney.

Stupid, but that's what I think he'll do.

I have no idea how Jags, Baines and Barkley have got anywhere near that squad on form. I hate England from a football point of view and would rather be fisted by an elephant than watch them play but didn't realise things have got that bad. Still picking players on how they used to play rather than how they are playing.

I would have liked to seen a lot of younger players be given a chance. Friendlies like these should be used to see how young players can do.

Smalling is average at best, and appalling at worst. Shows our complete lack of depth that he not only gets a look into the squad, but he will probably get some actual game time.

Hasn't Walcott been out injured for a while? Seems bizarre to call him up.

Plus point(s): Kane. Glad Clyne has been called up as well.

All in all, a worrying lack of quality.

Walcott hasn't exactly impressed for Arsenal since he came back from Injury so IMO shouldn't be picked. I really wish International call ups were based on form rather than the team you play for, how many caps you already have and how well you played 5 years ago against some team 100+ places down the rankings in a Euro qualifying round that was meaningless.
