England v Pakistan **spoilers**

Was it you or Spawn saying that you'd slaughter us over here after the series in Pakistan?;)

Yes it was, sadly we havent got any sort of pace in our attack..so lucky you eh?;). Fact that we are missing Shoaib, Asif and Rana says it all really..if we had them in the team then i could see Pak giving England a good run for their money, i cant see pak winning this test unless they have a minor miracle.
Lets see if England can beat them though, do they have the killer touch that the footy team doesnt have??:p.

Wouldnt be surprised in the slightest if this turns out to be a draw though, ill be happy with that:p

I think this is as sure as you can ever be of not losing a test!

330+ ahead with 3 days to bowl Pakistan out who would need 450 minimum to put England in trouble says to me that the fat ladys clearing her throat :p

Harmison hurts his side with his first ball!

Just heard this on the bbc commentary, great news! :D I hope hes out for the rest of the match.. and Pakistan score 600+ and knock England over quickly to take the game ;)

Seriously though Harmison continued to bowl and finished the over, so I reckon he will be back on tomorrow :(

Jayawardene has just gotten out, shame really as he was on 374 only 26 away from Laras world record!

and I thought Pakistan were under the kosh South Africa 600 behind with 2 days left

Didn't want to start a fresh thread. Sangakkara and Jayawardene put on a world record Test partnership of 624.

An awesome achievement, but I just wish Jayawardene had beaten Lara's record. :(

Harmison was back to his best, although the wicket was perfect for him and at times, he was unplayable at times.

Monty got some real movement as well, which bodes well for the rest of this series and hopefully The Ashes as well.

Good knocks by Bell and Cook again give us even more hope.

A great test all round for England, here's to the series win. :)

Well done to England, looks like all those samosa's helped Monty get those wickets:p:D

On a serious note though, congrats to England..played well and a lot better than Pakistan. Dunno about Pak at times, sometimes they come out and play really well and then there are times they come out and arent even concerned...quite maddening tbh. Absolutely no pace or anything in the bowling dept and thats made a major impact in the way they are playing. I just hope they dont rush Akhtar back, id rather him get fully fit then come in and break down again.

Im hoping Pak at least make a game out of the next test, quite depressing to see them play like utter **** tbh.

Talking about injuries is pointless really, if England had a full strength side and Pakistan had a full strength side, the match would probably have been similar, albeit with England likely to have posted a slightly lower total. Great result and good to see relatively new players really stepping upto the plate. Bell is in great form, Cook just looks magnificent, Monty is finding his feet in test cricket really quickly too. Funny thing is, KP's innings looks like a failure but he stilled got to 38 and Strauss made a solid 40odd, so they're obviously still in some sort of form. The only worry is Jones' batting, his keeping has come on leaps and bounds but his average is now lower than Chris Reid's I believe and the whole point of him replacing reid was down to his better batting.

Not really, it would make for a much interesting match...well imho i think it would. Im just glad i didnt waste any money on tickets for these matches as injuries to the main pak and england players have taken the shine off this series for me.

Just hope Akhtar will make it back for the one dayers as i will definitely be watching those...also managed to get a few tickets for the games although cost me an arm and leg:(.

Jones has been dropped for Friday's Test & Read comes in. It had to happen I guess:/

Edit: Definitely dropped due to his poor batting too, nowt to do with his finger injury.
