England vs Eqypt - **Spoilers**

I don't think it's about not being good enough to start, I think it's more about he's being used as an impact sub. I'd take him for the same reason for England, an impact sub.

Talk about not starting? Crouch hasn't started the last few games has he? Pav replaced him in the pecking order?

Crouch has been ill.

Well Crouch has hardly started every game for Spurs has he?

Nobody has, but he has started a large number of them.

you guys should just do a liverpool and play gerrard up front with rooney.

or change the formation, theres no point both gerrard and lampard both playing they dont complement each other.

a 4-1-2-1-2 would be good

rooney and defoe/crouch/abonglahor

gerrard/lampard as attackin mid

left centre mid = milner/young and right centre mid = beckham/wright philips

def mid = barry

I know Owen barely plays , but when you need a composed finisher there is nobody better (Rooney comes close) - just look at the Carling Cup final - he made it look easy. Add to that the manchester derby - the guy delivers when he's called upon. Yesterday defoe needed the clinical finish - he just doesnt have that in his repetoire - he's a more of a 'bang it' and see where it goes type striker - and has been very successful with it so far.

I would not take Heskey as he actually runs backwards with the ball (oh and he never scores!) and that is what you dont want if you want to win the world cup.

My five would be:

Rooney
Crouch
Defoe
Owen
Agbonlahor

Lots of pace the above - as long as Rooney stays fit then one of the others can do the job with him.

I don't see how there can be an argument against taking crouch or even him starting. I'm not a big fan but his record speaks for itself.

Besides Rooney will get injured before the world cup, it's a nailed on cert.

Heskey and crouch upfront ;)

People go on about crouchs goals being against poor opposition, I suggest you look at the teams rooney has scored his goals against, most of those have been crap....

I am a Villa fan.
Hesky no way, dunno why oneil picks him
Gabby well maybe, but not sure if he is ready, same with Young, but on a good day both a great.
Milner 100% has to go the world cup, one of the best midfeilders in the country now.

no..................................

i aint even gonna post, i cant be bothered.

he knows more than you, that is all.

u lot just dont like his posts because he posts a lot.

constructive.

Why is it this post is painful to read? :(

Anyway, I always read what DM has to say, even though you can almost predict it. He often raises good points but often talks a lot of ****.

You can predict what he will say, Eboue this and that, Song should be shot ect ect

There are a lot of people in the Football Stadium that post more then DM and yet aren't hated.

Hated is a strong word, I don't hate you DM :p

I think a lot less people would have him on ignore if he didn't type so many words to be honest.

He does write essays when it's not really necessary. Remember that 'please help my friend with his dissertation' thread?

It gets very boring though. His comments are always negitive about the same players even if they have a fantastic game. Then he goes on to say how rubbish a manager Wenger is. Im surprised Arsenal havent come knocking on his door because I think DM could do a better job ;)

I just wish sometimes he supported (in the loosest terms) another team so he could pick on them for a while. :D

Anyway back to subject:

Personally I wouldnt take Owen as we want people that can play game after game if they come into form. Why take someone that cant play more than one game in a row. He isnt that good to take a risk on. I could understand if Rooney was a risk and we gambled on him but I wouldnt do the same with Owen. Thats just my humble opinion tho ;)

DM isn't terrible, still have him on ignore though but I sometimes read his posts. My biggest problem with him is he doesn't comment on the games, if he doesn't like a player they've played awful by default and if he likes them they've played amazing by default, regardless of what happens on the field.
