English & European Football [17th - 22nd Apr 2010] **spoilers**

Looks like he is trying to contain Citeh with this line up. Also looks like Rooney is nowhere near fit

so your idea of a much stronger team is add Nani? Thats not much depth is it thats 1 player.

Also does Nani really track back and defend like Giggs will? Neville is already going to struggle with the pace of Bellamy you dont want the other side to be as weak surely?

See thats my point Valencia is back adding pressure to Bellamy I cant see nani doing the same :s

Nope I would have stuck Rafael in against Bellamy, Nani in for Giggs...and Carrick in for Gibson maybe.

I think Rafael is a bit too inexperienced to be up against Bellamy. He knows how and where to win free kicks.

He's only going to get experience one way. And the fact he's just been dropped since the Bayern game cannot be doing wonders for his confidence.

Yeah cos Rafael would be a good choice lol Bellamy would get him sent off with his pace he lacks the experience to deal with a game like this, look how he did in CL......

Also from what ive seen of Carrick of last few games hes been poor so tit for tat there.

Nani for Giggs possibly but again you need someone willing to come back as much as he is keen to go forwards with a team so capable of scoring. Giggs will hold more than what Nani would.

As said above I think this is more of a team to try and contain citys attacking power.

*edit*

Yeah he will only get experience in one way but this game could decide your PL so is this a game you want to let him try and earn it?

I'd be pretty sure that the 3-4 stray balls that are just going after pinging off someone in the box Carrick would have been far more aware of and possibly onto that any of the others are at the moment.

Annoying me to no end.

But we shouldn't be containing them, EVERY time we've tried to contain a team (bar the second Arsenal game) we've been dire. It's not suited to us in the slightest, even against Bayern we were firmly on top until we decided to let them play. Why not let the opposition try to contain us for once?

All is not good with Carrick I think. We hear Fergie say at the start of the season he is a late starter. From January I think he has been pretty medicore. Might be best for him to move on in the Summer

I would have to agree.

Sitting back and not just going for it and we play poorly.

We showed that against Bayern with Nani, Valencia, Rafael just running at them then it got through.

Do you remember Rafael just bursting on through and no one was closing him down and he just waltzed in? He even seemed baffled himself that no one was coming for him.

Running at people makes them afraid, Evra does it EVERY single game, and he gets plenty of crosses and works down that Left side relentlessly, because he runs at them.

Period of easy possession there, lots of safe passes then as soon as we try something we give it away and City counter, Fletcher seems to be on left wing when we attack

tbf his immaturity and petulance are probably the reason Man Utd are out of the CL. Doubt we'll see him much this season

how can a player with so much experience like giggs have no right foot?

its annoyed me, for all his ability over the years, hes always been afraid to use his right foot infront of goal. that was crying for him to smash it with it.
