English & European Football [17th - 22nd Apr 2010] **spoilers**

Bit of a zzz fest, but happy overall with the result. I said before it started that taking a 1 goal deficit back to Anfield would be fine, and I think it should be. I thought the ref had a reasonable game, as did the other officials apart from the offside Yossi goal that should have stood.

Have to say I can't recall a team so blatantly wasting time as much as Atletico did tonight; they either took an age or kicked the ball away at the award of every free-kick, corner or throw-in without fail and Reyes is a cheating **** too. You could tell the officials were French too, didn't have the ******** to do anything about it.

We should beat this lot at Anfield but 1-0 a much worse score than it looks.

Aguero is back for the Anfield leg isn't he?

Atletico's performance will only get better with him on the field, and I can't see Liverpool playing much better than they did tonight, they had a few good spells as you would expect, but nothing great at all really.

If he asked you a question though would you ignore him?

Or just side step it like it wasn't even there :p

Sorry G|mpy!

Nope didn't think I was being harsh or anything on United recently, a little fed up with the people on here crying about how bad the squad team is ect ect, that's all.

Guess you lot think different, ah well :)

how bad was reyes last night? talk about running up a blind alley every time he got the ball, i am sure that Arsenal are glad they got rid now.

Reina really kept liverpool competative last night!

Spurs also hadn't beaten Arsenal in the league for 10 years before last Wednesday. And look what happened. :)

That was at home against a weakened defence (and not that great an attack either lol)

No disrespect to Spurs - they played brilliantly

Interesting question though , who should Man Utd be more apprehensive about... facing Spurs at OT or Sunderland at SoL in the next game (stats are about the same).....

Even if Utd win both games (and the less concerning one against Stoke last day of the season) - Utd have such a remote chance of winning the title its not relevant but was still interesting to see similarity between Spurs away and Sunderland at home (edit actually must have seen an old table , Sunderland have much better stats at home than Spurs away)

ARe you completely blind, Reyes was phenomenal last night, he was man of the match when AM took points off Barca and was awesome against Real Madrid, he's been one of the top 3-4 players in La Liga this year.

He got on the ball a lot, because he got on the ball a lot, sometimes you'll get no where, remember Ageuro, the guy he'll normally pass to, wasn't on the pitch and AM aren't particularly good this year in general anyway. his passing was awesome, he was taking out 3-4 Liverpool players by going towards a corner, drawing them in and finding a little dinked pass between them to someone running into the box and he did that dozens of times.

Reyes was freaking awesome and BY FAR the best player on the pitch and no, I'm not glad we got rid of him.

really? i think inbetween his play acting and dismal in-possesion performance that he had a pretty weak night all in all? certainly never looked a threat when i saw him.

i truly never saw this occur in any part of the match.

It was also a weakened Spurs team.

Then you clearly were blind, he got a standing ovation when he went off, he was man of the match, his posession was more effective than any other man on the pitch, the drawing plays in and chipping a pass between players thing he really did do dozens of times, he popped up on the left and right wing all match, he was involved in every good piece of play in the match and every other report about the game says Reyes was fantastic. The write in e-mails on footie 365 are all saying Reyes was brilliant and would be welcomed back at Arsenal and someone suggested a good buy for Chelsea.

He was absolutely outstanding in that match and if you saw otherwise you were looking at the wrong numbered shirt.

HIs play acting, he went down easily once of twice, he was caught hard several times and was fouled the most, both because he had more of the ball than anyone else and he was by far their most influencial player.

AS for play acting, both teams had a lot to be embarassed about, though a rare turn up for the books was Gerrard not throwing himself to the ground every 8 seconds for a change.
