English League & F.A. Cup Football [10th Apr - 14th Apr 2010] **spoilers**

is it un think able that Liverpool could miss out on European football all together next season??

Just been looking at Everton's remanding games & they are all win-able on there given form at the mo

Aston Villa v Everton
Blackburn v Everton,
Everton v Fulham
Stoke v Everton
Everton v Portsmouth

so if we dont start to in prove we could be looking at 8th in the league. Would that still get us in to the Eurpoa league on the grounds that teams winning the FA & league cups will all ready be in qualified for next season champions league & eurpoa leagues.

I thought it was 1-4 for CL, 5th for Europa, 6th for europa due to carling cup winner being qualified and 7th for europa due to fa cup winner being qualified. So nothing for 8th. ?
 
lol, that's like the second time in the game Johnson has used his right peg. Needs a bit of practice I think.

Spurs' fixtures are harder and we're too far behind. Maybe if Villa win their remaining games they could pinch it.

I wasnt convinced at the start of the season and for most of it but this last week has been a shocker. We have looked poor and pretty much ruined our season by losing to bayern, chelsea and now the draw at blackburn.

Berbatov has to go, I really wanted to like him and sometimes he is good but he cant cut it when he is the lone man up front. When hes with rooney it is all good but without him berbatov looks lost.

We need to buy a few players over the summer and come back again next season. I dont mind taking a season where we dont do so well as long as we build a solid team from it.

We have a lot of talented youngsters but they need to play and get the experience. To paraphrase red dwarf, 'gary neville should be treated like an old incontinent sheepdog. Take him to barn and blow the mother away'

If Hargreaves is back and plays well that should sort midfield. Defensively we are good as long as injuries remain low. I really like rafael and his bro.

In the forward line we have lots of options but you cant have berbatoc sitting there taking up space because he cost so much. Sticking diouf, macheda or owen on the pitch for 20 min every blue moon isnt enough. We need a strike partner for rooney that will be there all season.

If they win their game in hand and managed to beat City, they'd only be 2 (3 with GD) points behind City and with both sides run-in's it wouldn't be that difficult to make up those 2-3 points.

edit: Just done a few calculations:
- City with lose to Utd, draw with Spurs, Villa and Arsenal, win their other game and end up on 67 points.
- Spurs will lose to Utd and Chelsea, draw with City and Arsenal and win their other 2 and end up on 66 points.
- Villa will draw with City and 1 of Everton or Birmingham and win the rest of their games, ending up on 68 points
- We'll win our remaining games and end up on 68 points

We'll take 4th on GD :cool: :p

sounds like you might be right but 8th could qualify via the fair play league an if they do they have to go in the 1st round of the qualifying rounds for the europa league

Surely that's Fergie's fault for trying to use him in a way that doesn't suit him? The better thing would be to stop this one striker crap and start playing a pair, we don't create or convert enough chances with one up top.
