English League Football [19th - 23rd Feb 2010] **spoilers**

Leeds lucky for a second week running, equaliser in 95th minute. At least a leeds player managed to score it this week.

Maybe I've just been blinded by the shocking incompetence of Wednesday, but I thought Almunia had a really good game today. Looked composed, saved well, didn't slice his clearances into the stands, and remembered not to pick up the backpasses. Good stuff.

[DM]Eboue did well too.[/DM]

yay Fabregas for my FF team :)

Yeah nice captain perk, was happy when he steped up.

Wasn't a bad game just wish we worked the goal a bit more, too much passing about but thats just typical arsenal, enjoyable to watch but a bit tense at the end :D

[DM]Eboue did well too.[/DM]

Yah Eboue was dominating Walcotts role, never really rate Walcott that much just far too weak.

That that back, stop being mean about eboue........ wait a sec ;)

Thought he was very good, as I say, he's one of the few genuine runners of the ball we have.

THe fact that he played at right back and was the most effective winger on the pitch throughout the game isn't a good sign about any of our wingers, but shows Eboue is good.

He's got what we used to have with our unbeaten team, someone with drive, who gets the ball and goes forward, who isn't constantly looking for the safe ball backwards.

Theo Walcott was appauling, thing he had the worst of his games and really Wenger should have taken him off to save the embarassement more than anything. If a players having their worst ever game, take them off.

I think due to Eboue being hacked down constantly and clearly carrying a niggle after that early tackle Cana should have been red carded for, we should have subbed Eboue for Vela WAY earlier.

Problem is thats a game Chelsea did win 7-0, and we should have even with a weaker than usual team. If we'd played anyone but Walcott I think we'd have been able to build some confidence with a HUGE win. Problem is as per usual, he can't cross, he can't shoot, he can't run with the ball, he doesn't run into space very well, he's got zero fight, doesn't help defensively in the slightest and can't read the game.

Even though Wengers always made the wrong sub choices, I thought today of all days even he would bring off Walcott first, when I saw Nasri's number it was one of the few times I've been absolutely lost for words at the pure stupidity of Wengers decisions.

Almunia did ok, but didn't have much to do, most of what was required of him was coming off his line quickly which he did well, but I can only remember one game he's made a huge mistake in doing that. In terms of shot saving he was basically untested, I don't think he's that bad, but to win titles and cups we'll need someone better.

WEst ham were really good today, faubert was on damned fire, his pass for Cole's goal was phenominal, his shot was very good though the keeper maybe should have done better.

Well thats insane!

//run out to buy lottery ticket*

* Never played it so don't really know anything about it. :(

edit: Ow Lotto is closed while we are drawing today's lucky numbers!

Good result for Arsenal today. Surprised Man Utd lost but I'm not complaining ;)

I think it will be an interesting run in this season but its now up to us relying on Chelski losing it rather than us or Utd winning it. The good thing is that Chelski, Utd and Liverpool have still got to play each other again.

Is there any point to Walcot apart from his pace?

Yes he is English ;)

Seriously though he does seem to have lost the plot since his injuries. He is still young though, so Im sure he will come good eventually. He really needs to work on going around people though. He had one nice little run against Porto where he left them for dead but his end ball is still disappointing. I think he has actually got worse since he arrived at Arsenal.

Wolves were better than Chelsea today and deserved something out of the game, or at least they would've deserved something if they had anyone who knew how to put away gilt edged chances.
Chelsea (well, Drogba really) had 2 chances and made them count and that was the difference, there was very little football played by either side too.
This PL season is going to be another of those lost rather than won as both Man. U. and Chelsea should be miles ahead of the other if they were a really solid team.
They'll both get sussed out in the CL.
