English League Football [26th Feb - 2nd Mar 2010] **spoilers**

I don't think you bossed the game? I though we easily had the best of the first half... the second half obviously all changed when the ref caved because one of your wussies broke his little ickle leg.

What game were you watching? First 20mins were stokes, from then on it was all Arsenal

Don't think there's any need for that.

**** happens Gilly. Football has its moments and its very annoying when a ref caves because of an outcome rather than what actually caused it. Shawcross was sent off because Ramsey broke his leg, not because of the challange he made. I've watched it a couple of times and it was at a push a yellow because it was slightly late..

But then again, referee's making bad decisions is part of football, - so I can't complain! :p Just an annoying period for Stoke with regards to refs... probably going to get worse after this as well.

For what its worth Arsenal were well worth the 3 points. I have watched a sky+ of the tackle on Ramsey and it was both players going for a 50/50 ball with Ramsey just nicking the ball. It was not a deliberate foul but an unfortunate accident. I hope Ramsey makes a full recovery.

Actually after your goal Arsenal controlled the game almost from a few minutes after that point. Just look at the stats at the end of the game. Also, no matter which way you look at it, that was still a horrific leg break and even though Shawcross didn't mean for that to happen it still did. The referee had to send him off he didn't have an option. You're not undefeated in 2010 anymore eh?

The result doesn't define the cause. That Ramsey was hurt doesn't mean it was a worse challenge.

I agree that it was never a red card challenge, but the wuss comment wasn't needed, you're just going to rile a lot of people here and I personally don't think it was necessary.

Nope - lucky we made it this far with the refs we've had protecting the girls in the prem! :p

And I was watching the Stoke game on the TV... you can have your opinion though since your an Arse fan and blatently biased i'll ignore it! ;-)

Cesc hit the nail on the head I think with that interview.

Sometimes teams can go too far with their attempts to rough up Arsenal and there is a level they should not cross.

These things do happen in sport and it's unlucky, but sometimes I do think teams can go too far when playing Arsenal.

Last year Birmingham got the last minute penalty to make it a draw, was watching it in a bar in Prague and walked out.

Arsenal need more protection, people fly in against them, Cana last week did it on Eboue and only got a yellow for a double footed lunge.

I hope the team galvanises (;)) and this makes them stronger. Going to be an exciting end to the season

Ah Well.

Crap decisions and we've lost the game. - Hopefully it won't be a crucial one for us.

Makes me laugh all of the Arse fans crying that they never get any decisions yet they've just won a game entirely down to refereeing decisions!

What a moron, firstly the penalty was a clear as day penalty, his arm wasn't by his side, it was all the way out and moving towards the ball. Did you completely miss the utterly clear as day penalty we should have got a couple minutes after that which wasn't given.

Bar a couple other chances from long throws there was no threat and from 20-25minutes in Arsenal entirely dominated, even if there was really no threat from our play till the goal and really after that till the second half. At no stage in the second half, even for a minute, did Stoke have the upper hand.

I still haven't seen the tackle, didn't really see it and no replays, but you could see the ankle bouncing completely wrong when they first showed him down. Always always very worrying when the first thing you see is everyone from both sides screaming at the bench to get someone over there, infact you know its going to be very very bad when that happens.

Players did exceptionally well after it happened as the last time really effected us badly, and you could see the expression from FAbregas, the "not again" look on his face.

Can only hope its not quite as bad as it looked and that he makes a quick recovery, such a ridiculously promising player.

LOL spunj99...what was he saying a few pages back??...oh yes Arsenal a one dimension team...well if we win 3-1 by playing one dimensional football then im not complaining in the slightest.

Awesome gutsy win for Arsenal...sure Stoke are physical and that Ramsey injury looked pretty horrific:( but hopefully he will make a full recovery.

So 3 pts in it...with Chelski losing again:D...always a nice result to see them drop points like flies..and Arsenal bagging 3pts...this is going to be a very close race...just need Utd and Chelski to drop some more points and Arsenal to keep pace with them.

dm, calling someone a moron isn't the right aproach.

The 'handball' wasn't a penalty. The player was looking in the other direction. It should be deliberate for it to be a penalty.

Arsenal were worthy winners.

Arsenal need more protection, people fly in against them, Cana last week did it on Eboue and only got a yellow for a double footed lunge.

To be fair, Cana does that almost every week, he should be on his 10th red card of the season for that tackle and an almost permanent ban. Again we're purely lucky in Eboue's case that it was a glancing blow, if his leg was planted and it was another inch or so over, well, I wouldn't have wanted to see the outcome. I don't think its a case of going to far against Arsenal, some players, like Cana, are just filth in all honesty.

I really can't tell how bad this tackle was without a replay, the result was obviously horrendous and maybe it was a disgusting challenge. The good thing is Cana for instance didn't give a crap that he hurt Eboue and would have argued the toss over being sent off. In this case he looked genuinely upset he hurt someone, didn't care about the red card and wasn't interested in arguing.

Arsenal need more protection, people fly in against them

You know what does that even mean? We hear Wenger say it, we hear Fabregas say it and we hear the Arsenal fans say it

Are opposing teams not allowed to tackle you anymore? Arsenal will only be happy if every foul against them results in a red card to be honest

It's just bad luck get over it

Good talk from Wenger, agree with him. The interviewer was STILL trying to bait him into making a statement with his stupid 'so you think teams are overphysical against Arsenal?' question, shameful using this injury to try and get a headline out of Wenger. He answered it well, he believes in what he see's, 3 leg breaks in 5 years. Not on.

Within reason.

If the players arms are away from his side, its always likely to be given, looking or not.

I agree with Wenger again, sometimes it's hard to believe in coincidence when it's so frequent. If you want to know what I mean, look at Cana's lunge on Eboue last week, that kind of thing.
