Koscielny sets up the bolton goal

1-1

So far every game I've seen him play, including preseason, he's made one complete howler like that, he does some daft stuff, normally massively over commiting way up the pitch for no reason. Even after the daft header he didn't get on the line, he panicked and was all over the place, if he got on the line he'd probably have got the ball away. I've really not seen anything from him yet that suggests he'll be well, league winning partnership quality. Vermaelen has shown he's really very good, Kos, meh, maybe the new guy will be good enough.

EDIT:- Bullcrap, West ham goal, onside thanks to the right back, disallowed, fantastic pass and goal. Ref's really deserve shooting.

I thought Wenger had got this curious idea of playing a tall striker on the wings of a front three out of his system last season? Really don't get why we're playing Arshavin central with Chamakh on the right.

We could quite easily have buried this game but our forwards haven't quite been in the game, especially Arshavin which is unsurprising..

Yeap I'm seeing that as well, I don't think they quite know where they're supposed to be.

Yep, I agree with you, he's ballsed up in every game I've seen him play in. Not the standard that we expect, I'd actually prefer Squillaci and Vermaelen as the preferred 2 CB's with Djourou and Koscielny coming on for a few minutes per game. Shame Vermaelen is out injured and hopefully it's as short term as Wenger claims.

I would like to criticize him but I'm sure the moment I do he'll score a wonder goal.

2-0 ht in the chelsea game. West Ham had a goal ruled (correctly) offside just before half-time and we have looked a bit too relaxed in the last 10mins so we have to be careful otherwise we could get punished like man u!

Are Sky only allowed to show certain games then?

Surely it would make sense if they offered a live match choice via the red button? Like they do for highlights on Football First in the evenings.

Arsenal 1 - 1 Bolton
Fulham 0 - 1 Wolves
Man City 0 - 1 Blackburn
Newcastle 0 - 1 Blackpool
West Brom 1 - 1 Tottenham
West Ham 0 - 2 Chelsea
Wigan 0 - 0 Sunderland

There's packages of games which are open for the highest bidder to buy. Think Sky have 5/6 packages with ESPN having the other 1. Obviously they cant televise 3pm games.

Yes - they can only show the games which they have a license to show.

EDIT: Sorry, that sounds hugely sarcastic - wasn't meant to :)

They're (Sky and ESPN (or whoever owns the rights)) only allowed to show a certain number of games per season and can't show Saturday 3pm kick-offs at all.

The whole football licence and package thing is a complete joke =/
To think, prem plus kicked up a huge stink back in the day! Well at least i only had to pay out to -one- channel for all my games, instead of ESPN and Sky as it is now.

-edit-
3pm kickoffs cannot be shown, at all, by anyone in this country. Exception being 'special' games ie: Legends, testimonials or FA/league cup finals.

Its the english FA's bright idea to make sure that 'smaller teams continue to fill their stadiums', they worry that by putting it on TV their fans would stay at home and watch (Since as fans they probably have sky subs anyway) and thus the club will make a loss.

We're definitely looking a bit lost up front. The Beeb reckoneded we "dominated" that half, but barring Arshavin's two pretty gilt-edged chances, we've not had too much. We've not been particularly sharp, Bolton have defnded well, and were they able to pass a bit better in our half, they'd be just as in it.

Ah, that blows.

Could then, theoretically, the BBC buy the 3pm 'package' and show them?

My ninja edit was too slow.

There's a limit to the amount of EPL games that can be shown live in the UK and no Saturday 3pm kick-offs can be shown; that's Sky, BBC, ESPN or whoever buys the rights from the EPL.

The reason for this is that they don't want to affect stadium attendances.

Two things, the sooner you criticise him the sooner he'll score, and so far, I don't really know anything about Squillaci, I can't say this soon if he has more potential or is anywhere near good enough, Kos though, he might take some time, senderos and Cygan looked almost worst in the league over a few games, 4-5 games in the side and they become completely different players, Cygan and Senderos were both part of our record breaking Champs league defence/run, with Flamini in aswell, and they were very good it wasn't pure luck.

Can really only hope one of them turns out like that, I think Campbell, probably after previous disaster with Notts County, looked like he had his hunger back, he was by FAR the strongest guy in the team, imposing, put in some insanely powerful soul destroying tackles, but good tackles, he's the kind of CB people are scared of. He wasn't asking for a silly wage IIRC, or at least certainly wasn't when he was begging for a team when he joined, if we'd signed him to a 2-3 year pay as you play contract on the cheap then we'd have gotten a bargain, instead short sightedness and he had way better offers elsewhere. I think in him we lost a leader on the bench/training, a guy to help youths improve, and a winner whose old, calm, been there before and we lost him on top of Gallas who left purely because Wenger was a **** to him.

It wasn't correctly offside, at all, he got a half yard ahead of the left back and two CB's, in between him and the linesman, the right back was another half yard ahead, he was onside.
