English League Football ** spoilers ** [13th - 16th August 2010]

Nolan and Routledge couldn't do anything right.

Carroll was winning a lot of headers but for what? there was no one to get on them and he should have opened the scoring. But I thought he was our best player really.

Not a bad 30mins, but Scholes was quality tonight... is he getting better?

We need to get our home results, any points away will be nice.

The problem was we looked like we playing a 4-4-1-1 and since Nolan can't run that fast Carroll has nobody to head the ball to, at least when Ameobi came on he was there to receive it. Why Hughton waited as long as he did to make a change I have no idea, it didn't really help that much.

When things are going good Hughton is fine, but as soon as we start losing and stop being in control he has no clue what to do so waits :(

Two responses and neither of you can actually deny it with any fact as to why i could be wrong?

Stand up, sing, wave your arms, do SOMETHING other than just sitting there like your sat in a cinema, because thats what all your fans did (at least on the far side of the pitch) the whole game!
Away Fans Louder Than Home Fans At Football Match - More on this shocking news story later.

all from London innit
99% of Man Utd fans could be from London and there would still be more of them from Manchester than there are Wigan fans in Wigan.

Personally thought the Scholes challenge was awful, he just got lucky that he didn't hurt Nolan, which meant it was a yellow.

That is usually the case with most tackles, a yellow card is a warning for dangerous/careless play.

Joe Cole was just quite unlucky in my opinion, you see many, many worse challenges than that over an EPL weekend.

What? :p It was the 4-1 two seasons back, a large section of United fans spent the entire first half turned around yelling abuse at us rather then supporting their team, and this was only the first half! We were singing 'We'r gonna win the league"' (Tongue in cheek, not taking it too seriously ;) ) and got told to belt it, basically.
Other than that, you could hear a pin drop, if the fans cant get motivated for pool/united then when do they get vocal?

Still better then CSKA London i suppose.

dont you think this happens in most grounds , most weekends?

There is always likely to be a small minority in every ground there just to antagonize the other fans rather than actually support the team they are watching - Im not suggesting its right it isnt, but its probably the case

Personally I think its down to accoustics - OT is terrible especially in comparison to Anfield (which probably has the best accoustics in the EPL), at OT (and Ive been sat in several different locations all over the stadium for different matches) it really does depend on where you are if you can hear other fans or not , I could see people chanting throughout the game in some of them but barely heard a whisper

(when the whole crowd is rocking its absolutely awesome, but other times.....meh)

Which is fair enough, but how about the stewards turn their attention to the home fans, you know .. the ones causing the aggro? instead of the away fans who are doing nothing wrong.

Sure, it probably happens at other ground, But happens at OT pretty much every time i go. Maybe its because the grounds staff hate Pool supporters too :p
